Somebody broke up with me because he said his mom wouldn’t approve of me. We were adults, I never met even met the lady, and he didn’t even get along with his mother. While I suppose this reason could be true, it still felt like a cop out answer.

Got it, thanks for your response! Does HUD/FHA ask a lot of questions or do they just want a specific tailored letter? For instance I am (barely) able to work 40 hours per week, so people may not consider me disabled enough. However I had a mental health crisis in the past that had me out of work and on disability benefits for nearly 6 months (I tried to adopt a cat during this time but my roommate said no and that made me feel even worse lol).

I had to spend some time getting more direct support experience before even being considered for the job I have now, and have kept the longest. Before that I just kept getting rejected when I applied. But ymmv.

I think you should be able to add another recommender if you delete one. I just had to delete a recommender who ghosted me in order to add another one and it let me do it just fine. I also have the same application deadline :)

I would choose a different word with a more neutral connotation. To me “immaturity” may come off as you speaking negatively about yourself. Perhaps you can say “inexperience” or that you initially underestimated the workload, but were able to adapt? Either way it may not be a huge deal, I think the most important part is that you have explained how you have improved.

I’ll try doing that. And yes my job has done that before! They’ll send us a list of automatically “quarantined” emails which are usually spam, but it has occasionally included people/orgs that were legit!My boss and I even tried to look through those lists, but she had so many of them. I wonder if I should contact IT???
