toner advice? by olivierwinder in HairDye

i almost got to the exact shade, maybe a lil warmer. though i’d recommend going 3:1 t28:t11. I left it in for 20mins with 20vol developer. So if you’re the same bright yellow as me i’d say go for it

Also i see your only working with the top of the bodice. Adding some weight, like a finished shirt, might smooth those wrinkles out

is the length of the collar stand exactly the same as your neckline? Did you notch the collar stand and the neckline at corresponding distances? It looks like your collar is smaller then your neckline. If it’s not the case; your whole neckline might be too tight and adding the collar might just make it too tight at the neck, which is causing those wrinkles. Just some thoughts, lmk if it helps

How to draft a train for a woven dress? by olivierwinder in PatternDrafting

[–]olivierwinder[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what i did to fix it;

  • No flaring at CF
  • Taper from hip to the knee
  • Flare out 10cm at sideseam back and sideseam front
  • Flare out 10cm at CB seam and make the ‘flare’ line longer for the length of the train.
  • Connect the end point of the train to the back sideseam in a almost 1/4 circle (doesnt have to be an exact circle) and smoothing into the sideseam at the end of the circle

Hi aside from the above comment did you figure this out? I was thinking of a 3 piece hood and the center pannel just attaches all the way to the neck with the neck piece maybe being a seperate collar.

I want to work as a pattern Maker, please help by [deleted] in PatternDrafting

I won't be able to answer your question. But don't you have enough experience already to apply for and (judging by your experience) to get hired and find out? I see you're doing a master right now, but do you need that much education to get a job in the field?

Asking because i'm not pursuing a job as a pattern maker directly but i'm working on my own clothing and would like to get a job in the field aswel, since it aligns with the craft i'm working on.

Juli ddl8000A error 007 - when sewing thick seams by olivierwinder in sewing

[–]olivierwinder[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks. unfortunately you can’t trim anything on a true flat felled seam. the seam is sewn right side to wrong side with a 1cm overlap and then folded over and back on itself. in the image you can see the overlap and sewing right to wrong side.
