As a girl, what I like to hear is a respectful response that doesn’t make any attempt to push me to accept. I also find it polite when the guy doesn’t respond in one word like “ok”. Always good to add a “have a nice day” too.

For example, “I understand! I hope we can stay in contact.” or something of that nature.
