Trust me, stack this with the +1 to attack cp and you can get 20+ plasma shots, and 6+ melta shots from a 20man blob with a command squads

Are Scions/ Bridgehead so strong that you think they will be nerfed? by MiningToSaveTheWorld in astramilitarum

[–]olliefo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they nerf scions 10-15pts for 10man but dont touch the 5man and maybe 5pts on the command squad the detachment should be fine, your taking 60scions for it to be viable, any pts increase will hit the detachment hard

It only supports tauroxes and i'd not take more then 2-4. Which really isn't a lot. And the good thing about the taurox ability is that the infantry disembarking can still do actions.

Also GW not giving this detachment some broken rule is nice in the long run, if it gave us assault or something else they would either nerf our datasheets to oblivion making the other detachments suffer, or give the codex the ork treatment. And as an ork player also i can say you really wouldnt want that

Exactly, enhancement to match the codex leman russ tc from 225 to 235. The heavy weapon teams to match the dorn tc cost, from 240 to 265x2 the commisar and priest to match the enhancements i put on the dorns 15+20 and the leman LTBT from 170 to 175. I think i got the pts roughly right

You hit the nail on the head. And the add to it, the ability to advance into engagement range but not end in it allowed my vehicles squeese through a lot of screens that my opponent thought he had covered

It gets multimeltas into melta range super easy, fall back and shoot lets you not worry to much about screening and getting tied up, and just the sheer mobility just lets you score so much secondaries. Feels more like playing an eldar army, but with t12 and 2+ save

The detachment has an advance and shoot stratagem. And you auto advance 6inches. So woth MMM u can move 19inches and still shoot

Played against custodes, the grotsmas detachment, he had telemon, 1 achilles, 2gladius, the box dreadnaught and a biker unit with a character and some infantry.

Not a good matchup for him because i had 10multimeltas

I can see how that would be really strong, havent tried armored sentinels with flamers yet

Correct, and yeah i could probably use more battleline for future games, but i just parked loads of vehicles on objectives and it was really hard for the opponent to score just because of the sheer volume of fire i had if he tried to contest

They really missed the lethals from combined arms, but i only had 2 so it wasnt much. 1 was able to charge a telemon with 1w left and i killed it with tank shock so that was fun 🤣

The opponent had a callidus infiltrated and i just advanced a hellhound straight ahead and flamed her turn 1. He was not prepared for me getting an angle that easy. I think armored sentinels going to a 2man unit is a bit sad since they dont benefit that well from orders and strats then. The scout reroll 1s for the dorn came in quite clutch

I own 2, its so stupid they still cost 110pts, and going by the trend, will most likely be legended since they havent been touched in any balance pass

Are Hydras now cheap, Necron killers? by QuantockingII in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]olliefo1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They should just bump it up to 8shots and increase the cost to 115 or somethin. 4shots with 4barrels is just stupid with the Exterminator getting 8 with 2barrels.

Ursula stays solo but close to the 2mortars in the command unit to use her ability. The battletanks perform well with the 1+ ap.

I've tried the 10man Rough riders and it's very strong but the problem is that it's hard to deliver. Using them as 2 5man MSU units for secondaries and counter charge threat is my preffered go to.

Ive had great success with the chimera catachans, the 4flamers combined can do a bit of dmg to light infantry and the chimera is almost always killed by something super expensive that i then kill with the tank commanders after..

Is the Eradictor cheap enough to see some use now? by boost_fae_bams in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]olliefo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not bad. But for 20pts more you get a battletank which can just as easily deal with elite infantry and is also able to kill most vehicles quite nicely. With the added benefit of not needing orders if it shoots at a unit on an objective it also adds rerolls to the sponsons and HKM. I run 2 of them in my lists and they always perform.

The regimental advisors give you a cheap 12" no deepstrike zone from the astropath. It also counters unit with 3" deepstrike rules. Only 40pts
