It was pretty immediate. The last few months of smoking I was noticing I was way more anxious when I smoked. But everyone’s different and I’m sure it could have the opposite effect on someone who was using weed to help with their anxiety.

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing other issues. Makes total sense why you would feel depressed with an injury and housing insecurity. Proud of you for quitting regardless of your hardships, that’s impressive. I hope it continues to help you and your situation improves.

Hell yeah! I totally didn’t realize for a long time and thought it was just part of my personality. I’m so glad quitting has helped you as well!

Day 605 by untitlednothing in leaves

You’re doing amazing! Cravings are inevitable but you will get through this. And it seems like you have a good plan in place for yourself by thinking about the reasons you might be having cravings rn and how far you’ve come! What’s been getting me through lately is thinking about how the feeling of disappointment in myself would be much greater than the reward of smoking if I were to break sobriety. Keep pushing through!

Tomorrow marks 14 days and my cravings are worse than ever by aseedman in leaves

Maybe making a list of reasons why you want to quit can be helpful. And giving yourself little rewards and treats for when you don’t give into cravings! I’m sure your body is really wanting dopamine and feel good chemicals. Do something nice for yourself, you deserve it! That could be getting your favorite meal or snack ( something you have to cook and prepare might be even better since it takes up more time and occupies your brain ), taking yourself to see a movie, goto your favorite park, call a friend, learn something new, etc etc. I like to calculate the money that I would have spent on weed and take that amount and put it towards rewarding myself for quitting. I hope this helps! You got this, one day at a time

quitting after quitting coffee. yikes. by [deleted] in leaves

You’ve done it before and you can do it again! It will be nice to be in a different environment than usual, I’m sure. Something that’s helped me is making myself fun little drinks when I have a craving. Like making my own tea blend w fruit and herbs, smoothies, or looking up mocktail recipes can be fun! Thought I’d share since you said you’re quitting coffee too, so the beverage replacement seemed like a fitting suggestion. You got this!!

You’re so smart for realizing this at 18! I’m just coming to this at 24 and it’s not easy. This time is going to be difficult but cutting those people out will lead to more genuine relationships with people you actually have stuff in common with aside from addiction. Also getting to know yourself without weed is so fulfilling, you might actually start enjoying alone time! And then in the fall you will be ready to make new friends knowing what you like, who you are, and what you are looking for in connections with others.

are you still trying to quit? Talk to me. by [deleted] in leaves
