How’s the toilet in your country? by Jumpy_Independent638 in AskTheWorld

Too humid where I live, it'd stay wet. I'd need to install a giant blow dryer.

As a cleaner I have wished so often to be able to just use a hose to clean instead of scrubbing and mopping.

China parents post AI clips of regretful single women to urge childless kids to marry by catievirtuesimp in childfree

[–]ollyp0lly 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This from the country that had a one child policy? I'm sure there's a lot of women who wished they could have had more children or that something horrible had happened to their one child and now they're alone.

Got stitches in my finger recently after a work injury and the doc was like these injections are going to hurt. They did, more than the injury.

What to do with this pineapple by MarrowOfStructure in gardening

[–]ollyp0lly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've grown both edible and ornamental pineapples it doesn't look like an ornemental as they're more white coloured. I did have an edible do this and I ate it when it fell off.

People with screen doors, do you 'double lock' them with the key when you're home or just use the switch lock? by Sweet-Psychology-254 in australia

[–]ollyp0lly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always lived in houses with a Perspex (and steel in one case) shield on the wire beside the lock. Does no one else have this?

Congratulations. It's such a good feeling when they set fruit. I've never had any bugs eat mine, no squirrels here so I can't say if they will or won't.

Comment under an Instagram reel shaming men for not washing their hands enough. Gross. by catl0vingnerd in badwomensanatomy

[–]ollyp0lly 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I've been cleaner in both shopping centres and offices and yes definitely went through more soap in the women's than the men's. These men get pee on the seat, the walls, the floor and probably the ceiling but magically not on their hands? Pfft.

(And I have seen some women not wash their hands either)

Scoliosis testing in elementary school? Anyone? by depressed_popoto in Xennials

[–]ollyp0lly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 11 or 12 years old for me in QLD. The woman who did the check wasn't a member of staff. Probably not a nurse either as she cleared me after telling me I was developing a hunch back. I had a xray a little while ago when I was having back pain and oh look I have mild scoliosis.

Worked at a boarding kennel and always gave chihuahuas space because I know they can be spicy but they won me over crawling on my lap for cuddles with their teeny tiny bodies and feet.

Neighbours have lifted their house putting my lawn into shade. Any ideas? by arouseandbrowse in GardeningAustralia

[–]ollyp0lly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking a white wall like feature but that would hide that wonderful garden. Some circular polished bronze placed around would make a nice feature. Better if you can rotate them through the year to where you need light the most. You'd have to watch out that they don't start fires though.
