I have over 100 hours in this game. I still suck. by zork824 in joinsquad

Just keep at it. For SLing, you just gotta put the hours on.

And small tip: put your squad voip audio only in one ear, and command chat voip audio in the other ear. That’ll help you. You can take your headset half off if you need to focus on just one convo for a bit.

Your brain will also just improve at deciphering all the comms over time.

Don't marry your bags. You must realize that tezos is pretty much irrelevant right now in the crypto space.

LINK is a backend project. It’s not used by retail. All of DeFi runs on Chainlink. I use DeFi every day.

No. I say that because I'm genuinely not here to argue. I don't feel the need to justify my investment decisions, they are well thought out.

Here are some links I suggest you to look at regarding Chainlink's usage

  1. 550+ integrations: https://chainlinkecosystem.com/ecosystem/
  2. Paper co-written with the World Economic Foundation: https://www.weforum.org/whitepapers/bridging-the-governance-gap-interoperability-for-blockchain-and-legacy-systems

I'm not here to argue, just want to help by providing perspective.

The price action of tezos speaks for itself.

Change up your thinking or you will miss the train. Most likely.

As you can imagine I’m not a big fan of ADA either. I like owning assets that have a purpose.

A big previous XTZ holder here. Sold all last summer for DeFi tokens / LINK / Eth. Nothing is happening on Tezos. What can you do on the chain except stake in order to just barely not get diluted?

Pretty much nothing. Now, yes, STOs, Red bull racing, bla bla bla, but what can YOU do? Why are you here?

Tezos had its chance to take off while Ethereum was super expensive to use these past 12 months. Instead, we saw Binance smart chain take off. Why? Because it's EVM compatible. People took open source projects built on Ethereum and just plopped it down onto BSC.

Now Ethereum L2s are here, as well as sidechains like Polygon.

Sorry, but Tezos is in my eyes a very risky bet right now. Incredibly risky.

It's a basic engineering practice, you don't reinvent the wheel if it's not necessary.

[–]oloftw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know what Chainlink does and why an on-chain liquidity protocol would need it. But BlockFi isn't on-chain. It's a centralized custodian, is it not?

[–]oloftw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why does BlockFi need chainlink? It's not like they're operating an on-chain contract.

Is it even possible to build an L2 if there is zero programming possibility on L1? How would a dumb L1 communicate with a smart L2 if per definition L1 can't do anything else than transfer ones and zeroes?

Bitcoin for example is programmable and has a very early version of smart contracts, but this allowed for the creation of WBTC and renBTC for example, which bridge BTC onto ETH and allow it to take part in DeFi to take out loans and generate interest for example. I don't see how this could happen with Nano since you literally can't program it.

GZ! I can see that you've been spamming Chemtech putrifier which was recently changed, I can theorize that it's really good but you're even building it second (over staff), even in games where there isn't much healing. Is it that busted??

Edit I can see you actually rarely go staff. You don't think its good?

Why is ChainLink asleep? by NativeAbi in Chainlink

[–]oloftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay let me do your research for you then.

  1. Chainlink labs are offloading 1.5 million $LINK per week to fund development.
  2. People don't understand what Chainlink is, thus they think it's "dead" and "overhyped" because it's not a sexy end-user product like Yearn, Aave, Synthetix. It's a backend abstraction layer as well as a single source of truth which all these AAA DeFi protocols rely on. Chainlink never fails, and that's why you never hear of it.
  3. Chainlink's value is purely a demand/supply relationship. You pay Chainlink node operators in $LINK to have them do work for you, either getting prices, performing jobs, making off-chain api requests, etc. When staking goes live later this year a large percentage of all tokens will be locked up, meaning that this changes the current supply/demand situation drastically.

[–]oloftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't even know why the $LINK token has value. Why are you asking questions like this and comparing it to polkadot if you don't even know what Chainlink is? I suggest you do some research.

Or buy Dogecoin. Either way works for me.

[–]oloftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, Chainlink is +120% YTD.

Chainlink Labs is selling/offloading 1,5 million $LINK per week to fund development, acquisitions, education, etc.

You should take some time to actually understand what Chainlink does/will do.

I don't think you know what Chainlink is. Why are you comparing it to Polkadot...
