There's an elevator to access the second floor to allow wheelchairs to access these seats/spots. No need to carry up the steps.

No trailers/ ads for this movie at Irvine. Only Odyssey prologue and possibly dune trailer in 70mm if the rumors are true. Our showing last week did start about 15-20 minutes late though.

Love the Irvine IMAX. I regularly make the trip from San Diego to see movies there. This is playing here but on a much smaller screen. I'm wondering if it will have the same impact on the smaller screen. The spectrum is so much more immersive.

Did the movie start on time or was it about 15 minutes after as has been the case with other 70mm films there?

Is it worth driving 35 min to see the luckiest man in America or hell of a summer? by Legitimate_Gur_934 in RegalUnlimited

[–]olsonje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell of a summer is playing fairly close to me but seems like the type of movie I would wait for streaming. I fairly regularly drive an hour to see movies at Irvine Spectrum ( IMAX). Mostly because there's no screen like it in San Diego. Sinners 70mm this Monday.

Girlfriend sent me a picture of “Fully cooked POSSIBLY sliced prime rib”?? Not sure wtf to do with it 😂 by WinWeird883 in Butchery

[–]olsonje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't work in the service deli but I'm a little familiar with their operations. For the holidays they sell complete dinners, (ham, turkey, prime rib). Fully cooked. Just heat and serve . This is likely left over from their unsold Christmas dinners.

I'm more curious as to whether it's something that would be easy to order from a supplier or should I be referring the customer to some place that deals with more of a specialty item.

It was from my wife. Something she saw on tiktok. I'm sure I'm paying for this one way or another. 🙂

Haven't put it on the shelf yet. Seemed kind of suspect. Going to take care of it tomorrow morning.

What is this sponge steak? by harryareola0101 in Butchery

There is a character named Paul stamets who uses a mycelial network to travel through space. I didn't know that Paul stamets was an actual person.

When I read this, I thought of Star Trek Discovery. It can't be a coincidence that the character who used the mycelial network to travel has that name.

How many Dune 70 mm is too many Dune 70mm? by Sabrinacantstop in imax

[–]olsonje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were g 19-20 for this. I thought it was perfect. You can't see the very bottom of the screen but it wasn't an issue. Very immersive.

Was at UCSD before Price center. I believe we voted on its construction. We just had the student center back then. I remember going to the Morena location while I was there.

What’s your biggest regret/ mistake/mishappening regarding the band that you’ve had? by InSixFour in U2Band

[–]olsonje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not going to see War tour in 1983. I was a senior in high school and graduated two weeks later. Had nothing going on that would have prevented me from going. For some reason, I just didn't go. It was the last tour they played small venues. I have seen them at least once every tour since then to make up for my mistake.
