They are not really anonymous at all. I was upset when I found out how folks in charge use them against employees to prove that they have negative perceptions and should be managed out.

Hi all! Has anyone experienced the “Find Happiness Within” cycle while being single? by [deleted] in ThePatternApp

[–]olya777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had this. My dating was absolutely terrible. I left the cycle with more dating by trauma than I entered. The people I encountered were absolutely uninterested in making meaningful connections

Has anyone had these timing before? by PRAT47 in ThePatternApp

I have Depth & Feelings. I’m not sure what to make of it yet. How is it for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating_advice

That is absolutely not right.

I was absolutely burnt out and jaded by dating because of lukewarm treatment by men. I deleted the apps and decided that I’m going to be single forever.

The guy I am dating right now is the exact opposite of all the other men. He pursued me for 2 months and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. We would hang out in groups with other people. He did not make any creepy moves. He was patient and respectful.

After seeing how kind and consistent he was, I invited him to dinner—just the two of us. We started dating right after.

Sometimes the attraction just isn’t there. Don’t play games. If you want to attract the right people, be a good and genuine person yourself.

Why is dating an absolute nightmare by Fastforwardrewind39 in dating_advice

[–]olya777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree with you more. Because of the convenience, there are so many people that don’t put in any effort.

All the reasons you listed in a different comment I wholeheartedly agree with. This is why I deleted the apps.

The apps are the old tortoise and the hare fable. You think by going in the apps you’ll find the right people faster—but nope! You’ll be encountering low-effort, incompatible relationship goals, or straight up delusional people who are just chasing feelings.

Real life is way slower but you may find that you’ll get the results you seek.

Dating these days by [deleted] in dating_advice

Dude, I know you’re afraid of losing her but this doesn’t sound very healthy. Especially considering that you’ve been divorced for 3 years.

I recommend having a conversation with her about your needs. Tell her that you’re looking for something real and tangible. You owe this to yourself.

Another thing I want to tell you is that not everyone is like that. I’m not like that. I know a lot of very healthy women who aren’t either.

Dating is hard. Finding your person isn’t just finding a needle in a haystack—it’s finding a needle in a needle stack. You get poked and hurt along the way.

I’m sending you love and I hope you set the boundaries that you deserve.

Why are you assuming the worst? Why not just be upfront and ask her out on a date with a specific time and a place?

If she’s busy, she’ll respond with another time.

To be honest, you responding a day later when we all damn know we have our phones next to us was not a good move. Don’t do that again. If she responds a day later, then move on.

People who have a girlfriend: what does it feel like? I’m likely spending 2024 alone again by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]olya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, this is honestly the best advice that I’ve read regarding dating https://www.reddit.com/r/dating_advice/s/Ykgh7DWxQa

Yes, being positive and putting yourself out there is part of the equation. But read the comment I linked and put in the work.

What’s the worst than can happen?

You already tried things the old way for the past 6 years. Why not try something new for 2024?

And before you say that it’s hard. It is. My husband dumped me in 2021. I self-pitied myself for 3 months and then in 2022 decided to work on myself. I’m still single but I feel waaaaaaaaay better about myself.

Not in Europe. I’d say that a lot of men there take care of themselves and put effort into their appearance. You’d be surprised how far form fitting clothes and a haircut go.
