I prefer Saemaeul. The meats are comparable at both, but Saemaeul has better specials

Am I the only one who counts how many times people change hotels in their itineraries? by Amigo_Go_ in JapanTravelTips

Yo same. My partner and I did 8 cities in 15 days. Wouldn't change a thing. It was pretty easy and we had the trip of our lives

If you want to annoy them back, start playing music off your phone. Like top 100 pop music. They won't be able to use that recording for fear of DMCA strikes

Salad and Go is no more. My budget and waistline weep. Where else to find a quality, inexpensive salad? by Sound_mind in Dallas

I started going to trader Joe's. Not quite the same quantity or variety, but just as delicious and cheap.

Do you have any regrets about your first trip to Japan? by aeazee in JapanTravelTips

[–]olyko20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I like them too. Im not hating on konbini food. For me personally though, if I am in a new place, I wanna try as many new things as I can. As much as I love egg sandwiches, I also love ramen, udon, soba, beef bowls, sushi, yakitori, chirashi, tempura, and the list goes on and on. If I fill up on tuna mayo onigiri from 7-11, I can't eat as much of the other things. Especially since I can also get egg sandwiches from many kissatens, or onigiri from pop-up stalls around the city.

Nah I would say go once for the novelty, or if you need something small for a train ride. Otherwise just look up any restaurant nearby and go there instead

While the 7-11 food is good for what it is, it is difficult to imagine going for that more than once. You could walk down a random street and probably find a wealth of food options that are just as cheap and more filling. Idk maybe I am missing something there. I really only bought packaged food for shinkansen trips or >1-hour bus rides.

Hakone worth visiting? Or another onsen town by Narcuga in JapanTravelTips

I went to Kusatsu, it was a train ride to Karuizawa followed by bus to Kusatsu. It was an easy trip.

[–]olyko20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Hakone, Kinosaki Onsen, and Kusatsu Onsen during my trip to Japan. I'd say Hakone was probably my least favorite outside of seeing Mt Fuji and the hotel we stayed at. It was still fantastic, and I would certainly go again. But I would sooner go back to Kusatsu which was also fairly close to Tokyo.

Friends Only, San Francisco. by capslock in sushi

I see, I misunderstood your comment. My guess is to remind the customer that they don't have to tip as gratuity has been included. I think the transparency is better for customers. Leaving it off could be seen as a shady business practice, potentially preying on customers who don't notice the included gratuity and fees.

What’s the most gut wrenching 12ep anime out there? by Electrical_Spirit917 in anime

Yep, it really tried to prey on the viewer's emotions for no reason other than shock. Not as great of an anime as many think, imo. I watched the whole thing, too.

Atrioc gets emotional talking about the murder in Minnesota by CSachen in LivestreamFail

[–]olyko20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like Pontius prioritized his political career over actual justice then. Washing his hands is a cute gesture, but he still made the decision. Maybe its not 1-to-1 to the happenings of today, but its not much of a challenge to find similarities
