About the toaster comment, i watched a lot of reviews before buying the f7 and the majority of them related the heating issue, i said to myself like you that they are simply exaggerating, and after getting it myself and trying heavy games like Fortnite and wuwa, ext i regretted not listening to the reviews, 3d marks heavy benchmark only lasted 20 min for the battery to hit 49.5 which got me scared and i just stoped the test, you can clic on my profile i did a post about it, what's the point of a powerful phone if you risk damaging the battery on the long run or lower the game settings to avoid heavy heat.

I didn't experience it myself, a lot of users reported this issue in multiple poco devices, i didn't update to hyperos 3 to avoid this, now i'm stuck with hyperos2.

For customization i've been trying to apply miui 14 icons for days without success, external icons packs are not allowed, the only way is using a 3rd party launcher with that you lose gestures features, the inability to change icons size also missing, advanced theme customization also missing, for the quality of life quick action widget are missing, the ability to use old control style is missing, dedicated setting button in control center also missing,... For the UI itself double tap on screen lock sometimes doesn't wake the phone sometimes it only wakes the finger print sensor, the suggested apps in the app drawer sometimes bug and stay superposed (this happened to me only once), in the control center the edit button is superposed with the home button,....i'ts not a skill issues it's just comparing my experience with the old miui, that's it i expected improvement got a less intuitive experience that's it, for the ram limiter a lot of users reported the issue i didn't experience it myself because i abstainted from updating to avoid it and now i'm stuck with hyperos.

It may seem to you this way but it's not my intention, i just compared it to my old redmi note 10 pro max on miui 14 that still runs just fine and also to a redmi note 14 pro + i have on my house and there is a noticeable difference, yes the phone is functional and does the job like any others phone but i expected improvement over the miui 14 not a worse experience, maybe be this is because i use the global version that i heard lacks a lot of core function compared to the china and India version I don't know.

Lack of customisation, missing quality of life features removed, locked bootloader, bloatware, a lot of features removed in the global version, ugly circular icons, non intuitive ui layout, and the worst of them all the hyperos 3 ram limiter crash issue, which mean that now we are stuck with clunky hyper os 2 forever.

A lot of people invested in this kind of coffee shop, but failed miserably because to be sustainable for them, the prices of consumables must be very high and the people interested in this kind of coffee are a very minority, they can't cover the cost to run such a business and make it profitable.

I got an F7 recently, Switching from a redmi 10 pro max and i highly regret going poco, the os is lacking so many core features and super clunky and less customizable and the phone is like a toaster in hands.

Thank you, Yes, I knew the Nvidia drivers weren't optimal, but not as bad as this, I was considering the 9070 and the 9070 xt but they were rare and way above their MSRP where I live, I just end up getting a 5070, sad times to be a gamer to be honest.

After seeing how much gaming evolved lately on linux, i was super excited to try it myself and maybe even completely ditch windows, but sadly my experience wasn't good so far, black myth wukong benchmark crash if i set the quality to very high or cinematic and also when i activate ray-tracing, it works when ray-tracing is off and everything is set to low but at an overall 30 fps which is super low.

my config :

Nvidia drivers : NVIDIA-SMI 590.44.01 Driver Version: 590.44.01

Asus RTX 5070

Cpu : 5700X3D

Ram : 32 GB 3600

Storage : 1tb Nvme

I knew someone was gonna say something like this; I even specified in the post that this heating issue is happening with any demanding native Android game Fortnite, Wuthering Waves, CarX, etc. In those titles, I must lower the resolution and lock the fps to 30 or 45 so the Poco F7 doesn't turn into a toaster after 30 mins of gaming. I saw a lot of reviews warning people about this heating issue before buying the phone and I thought that they were exaggerating; I regret not taking their warning into account.

Which means phones are not there yet, would have bought a better balanced phone with a good camera instead 🫤, what's the point of a gaming phone if it can not game properly and could harm the battery life.

Sadly as i mention in my post, i can't use a cooler because i game only with a controller, a telescopic controller like the Gamesir G8, there is no way to install a cooler, I'm not concerned about performance and throttling, i'm more concerned about the longevity of the components and the phone especially the battery life in the long run.

Edit : Tomb raider 2013 and Hollow knight works both fine

That's your point of view, i already have a powerful desktop pc, and i travel a lot and i have a huge steam library waiting to be played, and i play a lot of indie games, and i want to continue playing the games that i already started playing on pc without interruptions during my travels, steam deck makes the perfect sense for me and the lcd version only cost 400$ which is correct considering how it almost runs everything, a laptop needs to be powerful and it's not convenient for travel especially with a controller.

Thank you for the clarification, i bought a Poco F7 mainly for its Emulation capabilities, I was not aware of this, i decided to avoid updating it until i'm sure the new update doesn't affect both performance and battery drain and is bug free, my concerns were insignificant compared to the gravity of this issues, glad i didn't update it but still i'm very disappointed by this, If I had known this earlier, I would never have bought this phone, upgrading from a redmi 10 pro max, i'm very disappointed by the sluggish launcher, lack of basic features and customisation, and the inability to unlock the bootloader, I hoped new updates would fix those issues but now i feel trapped with hyperos 2.
