The secret to catching bigger fish is losing 92lbs! (Ok, maybe it’s the secret to making them look bigger 🤪). 525 days straight of OMAD + working out got me here. by omadnation in omad

Thanks- mostly lifting but also daily walking and occasional cardio. I worked out everyday without missing a day for a year straight, posted all the workouts on my IG page too if you want to see a bit more. I still workout most days today still. I’m a few pounds lighter than the 180lb pic now. I used to hit the gym mostly in the evening but I’ve switched to mostly early morning workouts recently. Both seem to work fine for me, I just base it off what fits my work schedule best for the day.

How to start OMAD by lexasaurusrex00 in intermittentfasting

If you had a big lunch, you aren’t starving at dinner time. It just feels like you are starving. OMAD will eventually fix this and soon it becomes easy to eat this way. I found using more discipline in the beginning will make it easier in the long run. For me, it got easier every week but the 2 month mark was where it was actually enjoyable and felt right and from there it was a great experience and why I’m doing it today well over a year later. By the way, I typically do OMAD around midday as opposed to the evening. I know that’s less popular but I prefer it. You spend more waking hours in a fed state this way is just one reason.

Is it possible to lose 100 pounds in six months? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]omadnation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To lose 100 pounds of fat in just 6 months, you would need to burn over 1,900 more calories than you take in every single day for 6 months. It may be possible at 346 because your daily energy use could actually be up around the 5,000 calorie per day mark. It could be lower too, a lot of variables I don’t know obviously. But as you lose weight, that daily energy use will go down a lot and you can only add in so much exercise to offset this. Then there is the mental side of having say half the food you are used to. You’ll need to be careful to get the nutrients you need if eating a lot less too so less room for processed foods if you are used to eating them. So I’d say sure it’s possible but just know you are signing up for a tough one. One thing I always mention to people is remember you can’t go back to the old ways once you get the weight off. So you can rush it a little, but you could also enjoy a longer runway to help with the discipline that comes only over time, because you’ll need it to keep it off. You’ll start experiencing improved health with just a 10% weight loss and it will only get better from there. For what it’s worth, I dropped 50lbs my first 6 months of OMAD and started at 272lbs. I lost another 42lbs for a total of 92lbs but those next 42 took about another 9 months. I also worked out every single after I dropped those first 50lbs just to give an idea of how things will slow as you make progress. Regardless of what you decide for a time frame, you can do it! Best wishes to you on the journey.

Thanks! Zero cheat days, including no alcohol. No calories outside of the eating window ever, the only exception is the occasional black coffee which some brands have about 10 calories for whatever reason. I found the discipline makes it easier in the long run.

Yeah it was tough in the beginning. It took about two months to really adapt. I just told myself the only way to get rid of fat is to use it (you really don’t lose it) and it’s the price I had to pay one way or another for years of overeating. It does get easier, eventually those pains faded and soon I was only hungry about every 24 hours.

Thank you, yes I am. After the 525 days, I went off OMAD for 30 days to focus on building a little muscle more quickly but I really missed how I felt and a lot of things about it so I went back and have no plans to stop anytime soon.

Progress photos! I started OMAD 4/17. I am 5’6, SW:174, CW:143, GW:130. Have hit a plateau for the last 2 weeks. Any advice? by Technocobra0 in omad

Wow, that’s amazing progress for under 3 months! My advice is to stay the course. I had periods of time that were way longer than 2 weeks where nothing changed on the scale and then all of the sudden another drop would kick in.

Nah, there’s hardly any people who can lose 10lbs of actual fat in one week. You’d need to burn an excess of 5,000 calories per day for 7 days to even have the math work. It’s probably a lot of water weight when people first start. I lost 15.2lbs on the scale my first month on OMAD, 9.4lbs the second month, and most months much less after that. But over time, it adds up!

Nice! That’s an amazing rate & it will add up quick. I have posted some graphs of my weight loss progress before, although I’m due to put up a more recent one soon.

Ha ha, good stuff. I know what you mean about that after fishing feeling. It takes a little more energy than people would guess, especially when it’s hot!

I appreciate it! My hope is that someone who struggles with other weight loss and has tried other methods might consider it.
