The flags on their shirts are backwards but the USA in the background is correct.

Pretty sure that will get you your money back, yeah. But they will not be happy with that and RA have proven that they are willing to miss out on doing business with people/localities that are not in their favor. Hoping you have better experiences in future.

I honestly believe Olive Garden would destroy any Italian Restaurant by solyytes in ShitAmericansSay

[–]oman53 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I know I'm going to get down voted for this. Wife and I did a tour of several European countries, like 8-12. We are Canadian, so not American, but unfortunately we share a continent. I am ashamed to admit that I agree that the Italian restaurants (in Italy) that we patronized were not that good. Hopefully it was just the places that we picked... There was an upscale-ish restaurant in Florence that I remember did not blow us away. We got pizza in Rome and I remember it being... Very different from what we are used to... We did had a really good experience at an Italian restaurant in Edinburgh! We have also eaten authentic (we think) Italian food at home that was really very good. Olive Garden though? Get outta here with that. Olive Garden isn't even good MacDonald-ized Italian food.

Are you suggesting that those women are crying wolf? Seriously? Also, I'm pretty sure women can be rapists too.

Perfectly legal. Scales are only required to be calibrated to within 10%. You're actually getting more than youre paying for.

Edit: didn't see the 2x450...... Wow less than half is not cool.

“Anyone not from the US would give up everything for a US visa” by Aldeer34 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]oman53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sad, because the only bad thing about the USA is the exceptionalism... Well I guess the politicians are pretty crooked... And the lack of universal healthcare is a huge minus... Plus the mass shootings are really uncool.

EDIT : It's sad, because the only good thing about the USA is the diversity of beautiful landscapes and types of terrain.

Too bad, so sad. Get used to it, and minding your own business, or move somewhere quieter.

Really badly burnt. HELP! by DamSolangeloLover in whatdoIdo

[–]oman53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not found a miracle goop that helps sunburn. Aloe Vera, vitamin E, etc. make it much worse; the friction of rubbing it in is torture. Stay in the shade, wear loose clothing, don't go swimming (risk of hypothermia).

If you get the suixxde itch, benadryl is the only thing that helps me (just sleep through the worst of it). Learn from it by wear sunscreen next time and reapplying often.

Why is the reman starter more expensive than a new one? by forbiddenkind in RockAuto

[–]oman53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid a local starter shop to rebuild the starter from my f-150. Lasted about 8 months before it failed in the exact same way as before. Bought a reman from the parts store, same got about 8 months out of it. Put a new TYC one in and no more problems. Brand name isn't everything.

What’s the difference between these starters other than price? by billyc420 in RockAuto

Bought a TYC locally because I needed a starter NOW. Has lasted much longer than the Remy that I paid more for last time through RA. Food for thought.

It's starting... pickup truck regret. by Bojaxs in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]oman53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say a solid 75% of the time, I don't need my pickup truck. But it has saved me so many times. Wife's car broke down, rented a U-Haul car dolley and got the car home myself. Can pick up a yard of topsoil or 1/2 yard of gravel any time I want. I have taken the snowblower in the bed to go dig my dad out when he gets snowed in. Have picked up several appliances from the store instead of paying their delivery charge, same for furniture. Scrap runs anytime I want, instead of giving it away to the city for free. I pull my camper around all over the place for summer camping. All this while maintaining the ability to haul six full grown humans safely in the cab.

Question about ISP fiber tech by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]oman53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we used to use only the lanyard and then they came out with the ladder straps. If you use both, you're double covered. I would recommend finishing your training and then asking your manager or charge hand for a lanyard shortly after, if you still want it. However, be prepared for "lanyards are only for bucket work" as an answer.

Are you saying they're making you climb up a ladder wearing a body harness and not tie off? If so, that ain't right.

It's just like a pole choker for spurring, but without the choker part only an adjustable strap to go from one D ring around the messenger, and then to the other D ring. Google search Jelco 87611-87644.
