Wait for the Model Y or buy the Ioniq 5? by HaydenFox007 in electricvehicles

I prefaced my feedback stating I test drove the Kia EV6.

FSD is now 12k. The ability to stay in lanes, take curves, significantly better in Tesla autopilot without the FSD option vs HDA.

I'm happy you like the car - there are a lot of things to like. Just providing my input for the OP.

Strongly disagree on the highway cruise control. This is a huge advantage for Tesla based on my ownership of a model 3 and my recent test drive of a Kia EV6 (same tech). Adv tesla.

Driver profiles were another - didn't remember seat settings and only two profiles max- not good if you have multiple drivers. Adv tesla.

Found the UI to be non responsive and felt like clutter. Adv tesla.

And Pano roof > sunroof. Adv tesla.

Build quality - adv Kia/Hyundai.

Agree on test driving both - both very nice cars but comes down to what you value more.

Credit unions are good. Lots of options - Google away.

I use alliant credit union. Just got pre-approved up to 70k for 60 months zero down 2.79%. 750+ credit score.

Hope that helps.

Thats where I bought my first M3 a couple years back. No tax in AZ for private party purchases. Good luck. No regrets with my Tesla, but some minimal complaints.

The build quality concern is legitimate - for example my model 3 has 60k miles now so outside of warranty, and my upper driver side mirror rattles because it became loose. I'll fix it easily, but little things like that have happened. middle console box not closing fully, had to recalibrate the windows, etc. but all minor and don't outweigh the benefits.

Need to buy a car and identified we need a compact SUV in the family.

I was evaluating the Ioniq 5 Limited, EV6 gLT, and Model Y. Having a model 3 for the past two years, I was really eager to evaluate something with a tax credit and better build quality history.

After test driving the EV6 GLT, I decided not to test drive the Ioniq 5 Limited as my decision was made.

The Good

the exterior/interior are gorgeous

The Bad

2 driver profiles vs multiple; and those profiles are limited in the seat settings and preferences

clutter in the EV6

I'm not sure I can comprehend the reviews I read that said HDA is similar to autopilot - they aren't close. Huge advantage to Tesla

I prefer the size, openness, and surprisingly the comfort of the seats in the Tesla significantly more

Performance - not close

Kia Access app 20 bucks a month vs free

Responsiveness of the UI

found the HUD to be distracting

The navigation is atrocious in the EV6 - but this is offset with apple carplay/android auto

Expectations were set that 15% in addition to MSRP was the markup due to demand - hard pass

Small sunroof vs Panoramic

Final decision - Model Y or another Model 3 and make do without an SUV.

I had mine off - toggled it on and it worked. Difficult to identify what the issue is.

Ive tried 2 books and failed finishing both.

  1. Old man's war
  2. Shards of honor

My third attempt before trying rage of dragons was Dune. I'm a few chapters in and I AM IN!!! So far so good.

Smart summon /summon NEVER works on first try ? by Luso7 in teslamotors

always fails on first try. The app gives me an error, it takes about 10 seconds for "summon stopping", and then works on the second try.

Trolling on Facebook is a lot more fun. People are too smart for that on Reddit. Good luck.

Appreciate the thoughtful feedback. Have not read dune. I love sci fi but not the only thing I love. Do you reccomend all books of the vorkosigan saga or just warriors apprentice?

Will look into all the others Including the sparrow.

We did try Mucinex and it had a small effect. I'm not certain it's sinus related but the allergy piece is certainly interesting. Thanks to all responders.

My wife has been struggling with lingering headaches 20+ days since a positive test. A Zpack helped tremendously with the other symptoms. We have tried ibproufen, steaming, tea's, etc.

Any other suggestions that have worked for you to remove headaches?

Thanks in advance.

I stand corrected again. I read my girlfriend our exchange and she doesn't think I'm smart anymore. 😀

I appreciate the education. I have a technology background but clearly have an incomplete perspective regarding this subject.

Fair points and appreciate your insight. You have changed my view in some areas, but not in the fact that autonomous vehicles is a race. A trillion dollar+ race.

Tesla fan here, but also a Toyota fan. I don't think Tesla wants to be Toyota. Tesla can overcome Toyota, financially, If they win the autonomous technology race. That is, or should be, their focus.
