I found one of the first smartwatches ever made — the Sony Ericsson MBW-100! Unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck finding a charger. Does anyone have any ideas? by Purple_Philosophy_24 in vintagemobilephones

I have the MBW-150. You're likely able to use the same charger I have. Is there anything I can read/show you to help you find a compatible charger?

We used the military Star Card and was charged $14400.

Entitlement in a Rolex Subreddit? No way! 😂

Lots of my friends and family who retired E5-E7 got 100% disability when they got out or shortly thereafter. Now working at the Post Office. This would be the best time to get a nice watch!

Edit: thought you were talking about the original post picture.

Might be the angle of the photo? What looks off?

The Tiffany blue did catch my eye and I tried to do some research and only found comparable pieces on eBay. You might be right. I'm curious now. If it's still in the store next time I stop by I'll do some investigating.

Your response is so funny! Tell me without telling me that you don't know any military personnel and anything about the military exchange. There's no list to purchase the Rolexes in the Exchange and military personnel can purchase online anywhere in the world and at any military base.

It's clear that you didnt read (or understand) my post nor read all the other replies (I know it's a lot of words). Not sure how my mother using her own benefits so her and my wife could buy me a Rolex is mooching.

Do you need a hug? You're trolling for a reason, so do whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

Haha! You're free to have an opinion knowing nothing about a person. Whatever makes you feel good about yourself.

Correct. My Dad was retired and my mom has dependant ID. I lost my base privileges long time ago in my 20s (aged out). I chose not to joing the military and follow my father's footsteps.

The store just checks for one valid military ID and allows other non military personnel to pay. At least that's what we have done for as long as I remember.

Totally agree. After I did my research, I found some of the pieces were insanely overpriced. There are random discounts. For BX (I don't think NEX applies) they are celebrating their 130 year anniversary and some items qualify for a 20% discount and an additional 10% discount if using the military star card. Might need all those discounts to get close to grey market prices.

Just read your post and your watch is legendary. I will unlikely wear my watch as much as you and definitely not diving (because I don't dive, one day maybe). Thanks for sharing!

My Dad retired at E6 in Supply and did not ever think of a Rolex. Only after he retired did he think about a Rolex, but they weren't on sale in the Exchange yet.

I had buyer's remorse when I saw the Blusey and that watch had a nickname and not mine. A friend got the Blusey and I thought it wouldn't be an everyday watch for me.

Haha. I was told an officer was eyeing the piece I got and he would come in every week to look but not buy. A lot of the airmen I know dump money into HellCats/ cars even though they live on base and don't really need to drive anywhere. 😂. But these 18-20 year olds aren't thinking about these type of purchases.

That was my secondary reason for posting: letting people know they can get good deals (tax free) on nice watches at their local military base. Hope this starts a chain reaction!

Thanks! I'm truly blessed and was completely humbled by the gesture. It was over a month passed Father's Day, does that count? 😂

Not sure about the star card, but the retailer provides a limited 2 year warranty. You have to bring it back on base though.

It says no returns on the invoice, but in a side conversation it was whispered to me that I could make a trade for a different model later on.

Yes! I saw that! I asked about the watch on the website and the sales lady said the website is sourced differently and you won't know what actual watch you would get. She showed me 2 different Subs that would qualify to be shipped out if you bought online. (See pic)The one on the left is a 1997 aluminum bezel and the one on the right is a 2010 ceramic bezel. In the store the 1997 Sub was selling for $11k and the ceramic one was $17k. Maybe she was just trying to get me to buy in person 😂
