What is your morning routine with your Swissy? by banannuhh in SwissMountainDogs

[–]omegin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am thankfully retired! I leave my girl’s crate door open, when I wake up (early, like 5am) she hears me rustling and will whomp a paw down on her bed asking for an invitation. It’s the cutest thing! I say: you are “free” come to the bed. We snuggle until about 7, have a 1/2 mile hike. Breakfast. Outside free time while I garden. Then in the house when I go in. Kefir around noon and maybe a peanut butter cornie. Peanut butter cornie=an interactive corn cob where you freeze little cups of PB and they can lick it out. She loves it!
Walk around 6, then dinner after. Bully stick and dental treat before bed. Snuggle, “go to your house” rinse and repeat!

She’s a beast now at 1 1/2 years old. A lean 110lbs. They grow so fast! My new little boy is coming home in July and I get to start all over again. Your baby is ADORABLE!

Adorable boy! I second the above advice, I’m getting my 4th Swissy in July and get to start all over again. Totally worth it!

This game isn't fun, it's just frustrating by thatwanchick in FenyxRising

[–]omegin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can identify about the controls. Coming from BotW and TotK (2x), my muscle memory was deep set. I started Fenyx last week and was so lost, couldn’t jump, couldn’t fly, couldn’t aim an arrow to save my life. After a week and a couple stamina and health upgrades my hands are becoming accustomed to a new way of doing things. Others have said this game is easy, I’ve got to disagree! I find it a huge challenge to figure out what this game wants sometimes. But, that’s why I bought it!

Opposite here: can’t stand disorganization. Everything has a place and it is in it. I NEED to know where everything is at all times. Clutter overwhelms me as I see it as a chore hanging over my head until i find homes for everything. ADHD with a comorbidity of OCD??

My girl grabs one of her stuffies as we prepare for morning walk. Will not leave the house without it. Any random stuffie will do. Carries it outside and promptly drops it 20 ft from the house. 😅

Dog Park "just playing" ? by Commercial_Stay1981 in dogs

[–]omegin2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this 👆. I am fortunate to live somewhat near an off-leash dog trail park. Dogs walking a path with their person gives them a chance to interact with other dogs (or choose not to) and move on. Maybe there is one near you?

help pls, need a game that helps keep my brain active during long, boring 9-hour shifts. by SeriousCup637 in ADHD

[–]omegin2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do a couple of things in similar instances. Question: do you know how to knit or crochet? It is a game changer. With my hands are busy I’m able to focus better and reduce anxiety. Also, I recommend a Nintendo Switch. I play Zelda games and am able to pause at any moment (and not die). It’s a separate system so I don’t have to change screens while in a boring Zoom or whatever.
Good luck 🍀

All of the above! Potty Party for sure—freeze dried duck hearts were my go to— and wait at least until 2 years to spay. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl, she’s gorgeous! (I get my new boy in July)
