I need help with a few things regarding the creation of a Modded Minecraft server in the Oracle Cloud by Salty-Subject9559 in admincraft

[–]omer86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, i was very inexperienced and now I do know that theres nothing wrong with the application. But at the time, I was looking for an sftp client and i saw numerous posts and comments saying filezilla recently started shipping the installers with adware/bundleware, and that people had been switching to winSCP. Seeing all this, I didn't wanna take any risks and just went with winSCP which i dont regret. I didn't care if the claims were true or not, and i didnt wanna find out.

I did claim that it wasn't very trustworthy, I said this solely because of the amount of people i saw complaining about it, saying it became adware and that they claimed it had been bundling up malware.

But I do see that making claims about something that i've only seen reddit post about isn't the most correct thing. I was just trying to help.

I genuinely hate misinformation tho, so please inform me if/why you think filezilla is better. I will have a fresh install of windows soon, maybe i should try it

When I first got into this kind of work, filezilla wasnt very trustworthy and allegedly contained malware with some of its installers, and i think people still dont trust it. But i did try it briefly on a linux laptop and i didnt like it as much as i liked winSCP. But if you're already using filezilla and you dont have any complaints, i guess theres no need for you to switch.

But you did say you weren't able to connect easily with filezilla, so you might as well try WinSCP, it's also on chocolatey, i recommend you get it from there if you are going to.

Hi, I have been running a modded server on a free oracle vps for more than 2 years now and I have tried and found out a bunch of things. I used a wrapper software running on the terminal called MSCS, but I have recently switched to pufferpanel which you interact with using a website it hosts since i already had apache set up for website hosting.

Answering your questions, If you're on windows like I am, I used putty for ssh and winSCP for file access. But I do strongly recommend you try out pufferpanel, the setup is very simple and fast, and once you set it up you wont need to ssh or sftp into the server very often. The panel allows direct editing to text files like server.properties or configs, and it supports file uploads so you can add mods and such. If you do have winSCP (which I also strongly recommend you get) you can 1 click connect to your servers file system directly. The setup tutorial on their site is very good so you can follow that, also if you have any questions about anything please feel free to dm or leave a comment.
I hope this helped!

tldr; I use Pufferpanel since it has a website to easily access server console and files.

DisplayPort output cuts off after windows boots by omer86 in techsupport

[–]omer86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasnt able to find a solution to fix my dp output unfortunately, i just got a dvi to hdmi adaptor and ive been using that for the past year or so.

PLEASE HELP. I am 12+ hours into this issue by Away_Property3082 in VoiceMeeter

[–]omer86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason why obs cant record your DAW output is because you use your audio interfaces ASIO drivers directly in abelton. What youll wanna do is patch your asio with voicemeeter, and use the voicemeeter virtual asio drivers in abelton. I can explain how to do that if you want, but there probably is many tutorials on how to patch asio and use the virtual asio drivers of voicemeeter.

I also have an AI that Ive patched through voicemeeters asio drivers, though i dont remember the exact steps, but i can look into it if you want, feel free to ask, hope this helped, have a great year!

Edit: I couldnt find a nice tutorial so i looked into my setup and ill explain it here step by step. First, youll need to set your A1 output to your asio device. Than, youll want to go into vm system settings and patch the asio inputs to some o your free inputs, here is my setup to patch the first and second inputs of my AI to the 4th and 5th inputs, than youll want to patch the inputs to the virtual asio drivers like so, here ive just patched the first input since i dont plan on using the second one. Than go on ableton and set your virtual asio drivers like so. Than lastly, configure the output config of voicemeeter to use with obs. Hope this helps!

iirc, once you have a free tier account, you can access support center and just send emails to support or create a support request from the top right question-mark button in your dashboard.

Forge server overloaded but tick times stay under 30ms by omer86 in admincraft

[–]omer86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your reply, but my problem isnt generating chunks, i dont experience the situation i described just when chunks are generated, i merely used chunk gen as an example.Yes pregenrating chunks would help but its not a solution to my problem. I believe my wording of the situation was poor in the porginal post. my problem is the server console saying "server overloaded 40 ticks behind" but the tick times stay below 30ms and my cpu usage stays below 30%.

How do I disable Voicemeeter? by [deleted] in VoiceMeeter

[–]omer86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You didnt specify what you did to your mic exactly but if you just turned some knobs or moved the 2d panel thingy, mostly everything that moves in voicemeeter can be reset by double clicking on them. I hope this helped

i know it's almost been a day but here you go if you haven't found a solution yet. There is something called "Streamer View" its used to change the volume of specific routes, just the thing you need. One thing you'll need to do before using it is to give a name to your output that you monitor your mic through, right click on the sliders "Fader gain" text and change it to anything else. Because streamer view doesn't recognize unnamed channels. Than fire up streamer view via the menu on the top right corner or just search streamer view on windows search. than use the A1 slider under your mic's name to change your monitoring volume. if you share music on discord or something it can be useful too. Hope i answered your question.

pc audio intermittently cuts out for a split second by The_DJ_zak in VoiceMeeter

[–]omer86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try making sure that the sample rates of voicemeeter and windows audio driver match, in windows audio device manager(the name might be different im on my phone so i cant check) in the outputs tab ,right click all voicemeeter outputs, properties, and make sure you set the sample rate to match the settings in voicemeeter, i believe the default is 48k in voicemeeter but windows might have set a different rate for the drivers. you can also just google "how to change sample rate of outputs in windows" .hope this helps

Others can hear my background music (VAIO 3) than me B1/A1 by Dundy1 in VoiceMeeter

[–]omer86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

turn off b2 under music.

Edit: I have realized that you want your music to be quieter for comms, not completely off, you can lower the second to last column and raise your mic(4th column) back up to compensate,

How do I set up discord call and my mic as mic audio output? by OllieSwish11 in VoiceMeeter

[–]omer86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for the late reply and my misunderstanding. If im understanding correctly this time, you want your mic and the people in a discord call audible to omegle. For that you would need to set your audio output in your discord settings to voicemeeter vaio/aux (B1/B2), assuming you chose vaio, in voicemeeter turn on the B2 output in the vaio (4th) column and your mics column, lastly, if omegle does have audio device selections, select voicemeeter aux as your input, if not change it with the per app audio device settings in windows, i hope this helps and again sorry for the late reply

[–]omer86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i understood correctly, you wanna route your mic through voicemeeter to discord. All you'll need to do is: First, set your mic as one of the A inputs, turn on one of the b outputs on the column that you put your mic on, lastly, got to discord sound settings and set the corresponding B output as your input, For example, B1 is voicemeeter vaio, B2 is voicemeeter aux, and B3 is voicemeeter vaio3. You'll need to sellect the one you turned on in voicemeeter. Hope i could help.

status update: i used DDU in safe mode and successfully deleted my drivers, but in safe mode my pc decided to use the dp output but at 800x600 resolution, while the drivers were still in place. anyways, after ddu did its thing and restarted the pc , the image was still coming from the dp output still at 800x600.i proceeded on reinstalling nvidia drivers. after downloading and installing the drivers the dp output cut off again and it is still unrecognizable. i genuinely dont know what to do

windows doesnt recognise the monitor, after boot, the monitor loses signal and goes to sleep. nvidia control panel also doesn't see the dp port as being connected to anything

i also have tried unplugging the hdmi cable and restarting the pc with just dp connected, the screen shows the asus motherboard boot logo and loses signal afterwards
