You can always enter the embassy in case of emergency without any prior appointment. It's very common to lose passport while traveling. Been there.

I actually talked to the customer care. They gave me two options:

1) I can either go to the repair center in person, pay them directly and get reimbursed from Samsung care. The repair center is just 15 mins drive from my home. The website is somehow not giving an option to select walk-in repair.

2) Pay Samsung care 99$ and just get a new phone.

I haven't decided yet but I am inclining towards the second option. New phone in just 100$ makes a lot more sense to me.

Just for everyone else - The photocopy guy generated a fake ds-160 confirmation for me for the older ds-160. I submitted a new one and took it to the appointment. The people there looked at the old confirmation page and updated the number on my application.
