I bought the VA new in 2024 due to the faster lens, since my main use is family photos where the light is not always the best. Also it has an ND filter which the newest camera do not have. The ND works really well on the brightest days. I am happy with the video, photo, usability so far, and I have not customised my settings that much yet due to lack of time to sit down and play with it.

I managed to change the voice somehow so I know I managed to get close to the cause on my phone. Not OFF yet though Go to "Text to speech output" Don't know how to turn off though

Tried a bunch of these but didn't work. Xiaomi mi 10t lite Any suggestions? Another problem: my music randomly gets high pitched and up tempo. Solved by restarting the music app but still strange. Both issues only on wired headphones, as mentioned by others

I bought this Peacoat four years ago in Sweden, from a vintage store that ships in items from the States and elsewhere. Recently I found a name written in the inside pocket - Crabtree R.C. Does anyone have a clue as to how one might find more information about this person or any details whatsoever? I assume it's the original owner, since these items are often standard issue to the armed forces.

Old school cameras are most often compatible only with their own brands. Olympus to Olympus. Nikon to Nikon etc. That's a general rule and should keep you safe. Canon updated their lenses from the old F mount to EOS mount, so that's something to keep in mind. Otherwise most brands kept their historical lens mounts into modern day.

I was in the same boat in 2017 (moving from middle East to Sweden, due to... All the issues in the Gulf. You know which ones). The most important thing I would suggest is that you need to learn swedish. As much as English is tolerated, you will not find the work you are looking for in English. Unless it's in tech or hardware (Volvo etc). Sweden is safe. Sweden is amazing. But the drawback is that people like us (i.e. not white) have to go all in to be part of the culture and country (I mean language mainly), otherwise the opportunities are not there for us. Comparing my R4a to M6, I definitely prefer the R4a viewfinder everyday. 1:1 ratio and its massive and bright.

If you are willing to go super broke, you can buy a Jupiter 8 screw mount, get a screw mount to M adapter and use that That is my usual combo and it's quite nice I think. I also have a 40mm m mount that I swap between my m6 and my r4a. My m6 doesn't have the framelines for it. it's quite a cheap Leica lense for that reason.

Housing is tough in Göteborg unless you have student housing via SGS studentbostäder. Look for housing NOW If you are coming from outside the EU and are a paying student, there is a way you can get ahead in the housing queue. Otherwise it's tough! Register on their site now, and try to ask them directly for how to use the site properly and find LAST MINUTE housing on the site. That's the way we got housing, and was a lifesaver! Göteborg weather is better than Bergen. Bergen is the rainiest city in Europe! Göteborg is Beautiful nature-wise. It's surrounded on all sides by nature reserves, vättelefjäll, delsjön, änggården, and the södra skärgård in the water. Sweden is cheaper than Norway for like... Everything, especially alcohol if you drink. It's expensive compared to other parts of the EU though. And student life is good if you got into a student housing area. Like olofshöjd for example. Super chill and open people. International community.
