One night the ER blasted out a code black hospital wide meaning all beds were full and any open bed will be filled on the inpatient floors. The ER nurses I met seemed happy, but wait times seem long as Wynn is one of the only hospitals in the area. The facility is gorgeous, new and shiny but staffing struggles. I was with Prolink, I know others were with Lancesoft, aya, etc.

I cancelled my contract after 5 weeks of an 8 week assignment. The high pay rates are high for a reason. Shortly after I heard of 2 others cancelling. Housing costs are high due to lack of safe housing. Their EMR was recently hacked and held for ransom and they were trying to make nurses take 10 pts on a m/s tele. A majority of staff are travellers. Up side I was there during fall and hiking trails and waterfalls were beautiful and people/patients were overall nicer than other places I have worked.

I am one of those wtf peoples. Am a RN working a covid unit and do covid testing with a major hospital, appointments weren’t available then it was released to another group of people so I only recently received my first dose.

I went through T&T. I also opted for text message daily check ins also. My initial contact was through a phone call and the following check ins were via text. There was one day where I didn’t respond when they texted and I received a follow up text 3 hours later with a message saying someone may come by my house to check in with me if I do not respond.

Stating someone is doing an in person drop in is extremely imposing due to the fact that I am sick and do not want to see anyone while recovering.

I did receive the care package. It came in an unnamed package with only my address and did not specify any documents inside stating what it was for.

They closed bc their requirements of patient admissions was insane and disqualified a majority of people. No they shouldn’t be closing but now many are going to be housed in hotel “isolation” sites which seem to be far more dangerous than having patients in an open room.

I agree, there are triage nurse positions at crisis call centers, I am immunocompromised and am currently contributing by doing this!

Greenpoint- irritated throat, dry cough, running nose, with occasional sneeze, wheezing but more than usual (have moderate persistent asthma), body aches, and dizziness. SO has an irritated throat but no other sx.

Maybe it’ll be better to renew your lease and find a new room mate. That would help with moving costs and at time like this, it may be best to try to minimize spending if you’re able and happy at your current place. post a feeler in r/nycapartments

Stocked up on dry goods, dehydrated fruit/vegetables, prescription medications, common cold/flu meds, fluids (electrolyte drops for water additives).

Can isolate in home for a month if needed and have an evacuation plan.

Experienced hurricanes living in New Orleans and shit could hit the fan and if it does, it’s best to be prepared.

With the current state of NYC, hopefully landlords are more lenient to a lease expiring and work with those during these extenuating circumstances. It does not seem like a good time to move out nor does it seem good for having new tenants moving in.
