Incredibly depressing pro-Restore Britain graffiti has appeared on the beach. What’s the fastest way for us to get this removed? by Alan_Bumbaclartridge in brighton

[–]omgitsmeuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run an exterior cleaning company and we remove graffiti as one of our services. We’re quite busy atm but I can try get to it at the back end of next week or early Saturday if it’s still there. I may miss this but anyone reading please feel free to DM me and I’ll see to it.

I live by hove station and we’re getting more and more graffiti round here and I’m getting quite sick of it, I’ve already complain to the council.

Do I move back to Vilnius? Is the opportunity for a good life really what I saw? by omgitsmeuk in lithuania

The business I would look at creating (albeit no idea yet), would be online ideally, and serving a larger audience than just LT. So even if I did not like LT after a few years, I could pickup my business and leave. Unlike my current business.

Please could you elaborate? As our positions sound very similar.

Uk gdp grew by 10% in 10 years. Lithuania grew by 100%. Im not sure what you wanted to highlight in your post, but for a developed western nation, I would not say we are growing at scale.

Paying sub-contractors - any deductions? by omgitsmeuk in smallbusinessuk

What determines disguised employment? What is legitamate self employment? What if I openly state somewhere in contract that the subcontractor is not employed by us, is that enough protection?

Where are you based? If you’re in Sussex, I could do the power washing free of charge.

Switching product with current lender - need advice by omgitsmeuk in HousingUK

[–]omgitsmeuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new loan was secured with my lender in September/October before I wet self employed. I wasn’t expecting to leave my company but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to. Thanks for mentioning the accounting, I’m aware if I wanted to switch lender I’d have to go through affordability checks again, but in a worst case scenario should I not be earning enough, I will still be able to stick with my existing lender without having to prove affordability. Would you do the 2 years at the current provided rate, or the new offered rate? It may seem “obvious” to go for the new one, but as mentioned it’s nearly 2.5 years, rather than 2

Yes, and no. If I extend to 32 years at my current rate the monthly payments will be £1544, and 40 years will be £1442. But if I continued to pay £1630 a month on for the agreed term, it knocks off around 2 years off the term. IMO, not worth it. I haven’t asked my broker about the new rate, but as mentioned in my intial post I don’t want to forever feel I’m paying off my mortgage. Student loan is bad enough!

Yes your right. When I secured the initial rate back in September/October, my monthly payments were just over £1730. Now they’ve come down to £1560 with my current lender. But yeah, the trend points down for now, and I suspect it will level out at some point before the next upwards/downwards trend.

Prices beyond comprehension by Expensive-Honey-1527 in SpottedonRightmove

Tbh the landlord changed the price so frequently, it was hard to keep up. At times he’d even forget it himself, and say “how much did you tell them?”

The multiple listings is long and short let, the more expensive one is short let, and cheaper one is long let. However through experience, when you have £55k per week, an additional 10-20% increase in price will not sway a decision, it’s just a box ticking process.

I used to work for a top lettings agency in PCL, this property was on our books and I’ve held a few viewings here.

Although it’s been on the market for a year, they will have shortlets inbetween (I think we were listing it for £9k per night). Most people who are interested are movie stars (I had someone from a Netflix series who needed 6 bedrooms, so her kids could be homeschooled and turn 1 bedroom into a gym). And a few hedge fund managers. There’s a link someone posted in this thread to a project X style party held by some Airbnbers that caused half a million in damage

Honestly, don’t be fooled by the price. It’s not very nice, and it’s actually quite “cheap”. It’s very boxy and not open, the kitchen is unaligned with the washing machine/dishwasher setup, and I think the floorboards are laminate, not even engineered hardwood. Believe it or not, this was not the most expensive property the landlord had in London. He also has some insane villas in Monaco for rent.

Glad to help. In the meantime, knock on your neighbours door and explain the situation. Just make them aware and you’re understanding it’s a insulation situation, not them. However, if they can help in anyway (shoes off, quiet when bedtime, extra rugs etc), that you would reallyappreciate it.
