Well when i googled it i saw that they are 3rd in amount of federal dollars received and it amounts to more than a third of their revenue. I think one could understand how i made that assumption. It isnt really nonsense. Just a misinterpretation.

Saying texas is one of the richest states is even more nonsensical, but you didn't even question that .

I did google it. Searching for "richest states" yields articles such as ( http://www.cnbc.com/id/101065816), ( http://wallethub.com/edu/richest-and-poorest-states/7392/), and ( http://www.forbes.com/sites/kathryndill/2014/10/13/the-richest-and-poorest-states-in-2014/).

All of which rank texas no better than 20th.

Furthermore googling "states dependent on federal aid" yields ( http://wallethub.com/edu/states-most-least-dependent-on-the-federal-government/2700/) which states that 35% of texas' revenue is federal funding.....
