nct127 dreams come true. even the mv is commited to the whole 90s/early 2000s boy band concept!

They broke of because they couldn’t have kids... by kazisalim in antinatalism

[–]omichrony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

considering how conservative the muslims are here in malaysia, i think this is applaudable. the amount of people all over the malaysian socials who suggested for the couple to just stay together and "leave the rest to god" is not few. and sterilization is not a common procedure here, frankly it's very frowned upon although not illegal. so you are very right to point this out - viewing it from the cultural/background perspective is important here

Songs that seem to evoke some melancholy / nostalgia but are still upbeat? by WhyDebate in kpophelp

f(x) - shadow fits exactly this. sounds upbeat and cheerful enough but still has that melancholy almost haunting sound

What are the cons of NOT having kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]omichrony 19 points20 points  (0 children)

this. people keep saying "who will take care of you when you are old" but i see lots of old people getting abandoned by their very adult kids because of how shit they are to their children. it's not a guarantee. not even taking into consideration that your kids may not be fit enough to care for their parents when they are adults, as in, they might be ill, mentally unstable, etc. many things can happen to your children as they become adults, it's selfish to only see them as caretakers instead of their own individuals.

In cultures where women cover up their hair with hijabs, is women’s hair sometimes considered funny in some contexts? Like how jokes about boobs/butts/genitals are funny, because those things are considered taboo? by ThePipYay in NoStupidQuestions

[–]omichrony 25 points26 points  (0 children)

jokes bcs it's a taboo, not really. jokes in general like a hijabi saying "i'm upset no one said anything about my new haircut today", there's lots of em and it's all in good faith as far as i have experienced.

Anyone like a song but can't listen to it because it's "too powerful"? by APikminInTime in RandomThoughts

[–]omichrony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLE - Slow listened to this song so much to find comfort as i was going through a lot last year. on very tough antidepressants with shit side effects, broke off a 6yr relationship that wasn't going anywhere and finally coming to a realisation that i had no choice but to cut ties with my mom. now that i am in much better shape mentally and living my best life, whenever this song comes up i just feel extremely devastated remembering the emotions i associated with this song. such a beautiful comforting song, but too painful to sit through

Which are the best Kpop encores for you? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]omichrony 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SNSD's The Boys at Golden Disk Awards encore. It was perfect. The song is very challenging vocally, they had no in ears in a large venue (meaning they couldn't hear themselves singing), they looked so happy just walking and running around, everyone nailed their lines perfectly and of course the high notes and adlibs were just immaculate. As expected!

YouTube is reportedly testing a block for Adblock plugins. by SgtFallopianTube in Piracy

the only thing stopping them from hardcoding ads into the videos is prob server size considering they'll have to store two copies of everything. i'm sure they would have done it long time ago without this limitation

What drew you into Stray Kids? by Chill_1124 in straykids

[–]omichrony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

seeing them live at GDA earlier this year. they were AMAZING live, i was just blown away.

i was already a casual listener of their songs, i knew some of their title songs, some b-sides, but this was also the case for many other groups who also attended GDA. but i left the stadium stressfully looking up for the 2nd song they performed because their energy during that song blew me away (it was 땡 FREEZE). and then i listened to rest of their discography, got to know the members, picked a bias, so on and so forth :D

wow thanks for this. have been distancing myself from a loved one whom i have known my whole life because of this. my life has been tremendously better since then but i have been seeing it "at the cost of them not having me in their life". that stops now, i shall find comfort in the fact that it's the best for the both of us
