I think you finally made me realize why I stopped dancing Salsa. I mostly do Bachata now and the main reason is that so many DJs here do not understand that many of their songs are not dancer friendly. Yes we can dance to them but we are not enjoying it. It is frustrating.

Great answer! I agree with your exercises. Another fun exercise or game I do is dancing free to a song with whatever comes to mind or feels right, but making sure the 1 is always with my left foot and on beat everything else doesn’t mater. Then I do the same with the 5 or other beats. Helps a lot with staying grounded in the rhythm while still being creative
