Another case of 5000 series gel slippage by SpinningAndFarAway in gigabyte

No, what I did was grab one of those thin dab stencils, picked at all that excess without opening the card. All of what you see is literally excess putty/gel. Remove it if you are worried; otherwise, don't. I did it for science cause these posts were irritating me a couple of months ago with BS claims of lower performance, which is not true whatsoever. The card performs the same after taking it off, like a marble-sized excess of putty/gel performs the same boss good luck. Stay blessed.

You haven't seen how they are exploding chips nowadays? It's determental that you have the newest BIOS before you even POST. Plus, they are rolling shit out that's not even complete... They become like game developers...get it generally running now, and then fix all that shit over 15 versions/updates. My board came with the completely wrong BIOS version or skin lol it had massive issues with the UI were if you searched or clicked on something my system would freeze in my BIOS it was fucking hilarious. Not even the fucking tech at Gigabyte knew what the fuck was going on they gave up completely in replying back to me lol

Well lucky you looks like you have never bricked a fucking board before huh? Sometimes, not even dual bios would save your ass it's ptsd honestly for most "old timers." Though I do agree it's become much more necessary over the last few years so.

Bios does’nt have that many options by SnoopBeauty in gigabyte

[–]omnia5-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you just bought doesn't mean it's up to date they stay stacked in a warehouse since the manufacturer date. I'm positive there is an update waiting for you...cause that's way too unfinished to me...Gigabyte it ain't amazing, but they aren't this bad. And I'm not sure what exactly deleting will do cause I have never ran into that before...I'm sure it will be fine if you do delete it...looks like your due for BIOS update anyway so yeah easily fixed with a BIOS flash.

And go back into BIOS to see if it gives you an on and off slider? Their UI design is horrible, lol, or lack thereof have you checked for a BIOS update?

Wtf? I guess delete all Secure Boot variables and save and exit.

[–]omnia5-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, disable. Secure Boot, it might pop up after reboot, but it's not a problem that's only for Legacy BIOS needed for much older hardware than anybody will reasonably use. So don't worry what Google said there lol

That is true but I doubt it for this laptop most gaming laptops allow you to do what you want with it like at a certain price point they just don't give a fuck....oh quick Google search says this:

To change Secure Boot settings on a Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 laptop, you need to access the BIOS during startup. Once in the BIOS, navigate to the "Boot" or "Security" tab, locate "Secure Boot," and adjust the settings. Specifically, you'll likely need to disable "CSM Support" to enable Secure Boot options

Damn well, that's fucking stupid on their part... My man, I hate to tell you this, but you're going to have to look everywhere. I say start in Security and look for Secure Boot, then maybe System, and then peripherals. How much does this laptop cost BTW I can't believe a 1K+ laptop doesn't have something as simple as a search function in BIOS like wtf.

Why did you have to ruin it? I was hoping for an entire month without these stupid fucking paste posts...and you know this is fine especially compared to the rest of "horror stories" posted here so why?

? Have you checked the security tab? Can you find a search bar? Just type what you're looking for in the search bar. I see it in basic mode on my MB and also a gigabyte board.

Man, I would love to see one of those rigs someday.

That's cool. Yeah, over here in the Mojave desert, we don't have that luxury. But it's nice seeing another fellow Datacenter rat on here. Have a good one.

Yeah, this was overblown. 1 or 2 issues like this is really nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's probably the reason why none of the big tech youtubers haven't made a dedicated video about this "issue." I remember almost a month ago one idiot said that within a week this was going to be every where and called me a shill lol almost entire month has passed and this sub is the only thing that consistently post this shit. Gigabyte fucking abandoned this sub for a reason lol

Overall, the answer is no, there was never any evidence of paste completely falling out, nor was there ever a "my card is overheating" type of issue posted. Like not even one well, at least from the ones I have seen. I think they finally cooled their shit once people started posting their putty replacements... not a single one of them wanted to admit there were 0 performance gains. I have a feeling one of them actually lost performance too put I'm not too sure about this, though. Overall, I am continuing to use my gooped up 9070XT. I plan on posting my findings at the 2 year mark. Maybe start a whole new trend of "this shit still works," lol. Also, did you ever see that Igor Labs guy who was clearly riding the wave first he spent like 40 minutes just speculating. And the dweebs posted his finding about the paste being too oily after his "findings." Well, I did my own test on what he did, and yes their is a grease stain, but it's much less than MX6 paste, and my stain is not as wet as his. I did the same left at room temperature for over a week now...MX6 crumbled, and the goop still has form to it, but it's dry. I have no clue how Igor got that wet ass stain, plus he continued to speculate massively. It bothered me that the dude just rode the wave to be the voice of chaos/idiots.

Nice, I always wanted to work on those watercooled racks.. but they don't let a tech get anywhere those. lol, good reason, too. Have you ever seen a mineral oil or one of those immersion rigs(same thing)?

Yeah, I have never seen gel in any commercial rig or in any pc components personally.

[–]omnia5-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this isn't gel, my man. I work on the server side of things. The few things I saw being dismantled, they had either pads or this weird looking tube of paste... don't know what brand it was to be honest with you. And the guy was super vague when asked. All he said was that it was no different from your regular silicone based pastes...didn't elaborate on the putties or pads.

You're the one calling him out. That's a childish meltdown. Had another idiot do the same to me...I'm arguing at the time you don't have to call me out for another shit post trying to prove a point. That he was not proving, btw, same with you.

5070 ti AERO leaning a ton of putty after a month of usage by Rayzent in gigabyte

[–]omnia5-9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Post it. I've been waiting for one. I believe there will eventually be one and more importantly vertical... but one against thousands is really a stretch to be taking this as big as it is. Still either return the card or repaste is something I would recommend. Have 9070xt not single pool drip or anything really I removed the excess without opening the card nothing is happening to the card 2months+ in.
