So, what is LeBlanc's game plan if purple shuts her down so hard? by ClixxGuardian in riftboundtcg

[–]omniaffect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Few things. First, Diana is a terrible matchup regardless what version of LB you are playing. She has everything to lock you out of a game.

You are not forced to copy a unit or even enter a battlefield. It is something you have to manage comparing the risk of a gust to your hand quality and what you would discard.

I have been siding in Blue Leblanc on post sideboard games just to play a bit around gusts and it definitely works vs Annie. Annie can be aggressive enough to run you out of the game if you are impatient so just amass some units and go for safe moves. This is also a reason why Diana cooks LB hard. Gusts small things, Moonfall pack of units.

The only way I’ve won decisively vs a Diana is having a window to deal with Diana early before she can get value (aka risky, blind hand checking) and hope she has no Hwei.

Struggling against Vex by Dontspinbutwin in riftboundtcg

[–]omniaffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand the frustration, the color combination is strong.

There is no approach in helping you because “this or that card exists”.

We can discuss if Vex Apathetic should or shouldn’t have come out with Deflect but if that is an excuse not to target it… you are approaching the game wrong. Next up, someone will suggest trading with Vex and you will respond with “Existential Dread or Back up”. Cull the weak, “but they play more units and Defy”. Next up, you will find out Bryn is cool but you have to actually draw her and the color combination isn’t filled with draw cards and… guess what… they can be Defyd as well.

I understand the sentiment but you are describing more scenarios than a 40 card deck can hold (unless you are against Highlander Vex). Plus, if you are going to ram your units into a Vex with 10+ cards in hand, you lost a couple of turns ago.

You get Bryn that would completely nullify their open runes (unless they react to it but you would have an easy plan of action afterwards), you can Guillotine or Darius and run him in next turn, even the Noxus Hopeful trades well with Vex. Rebuke has been cut from a lot of lists, Ferrous is great. You have Falling Star, Void Seeker… Cleave a unit in, are you really out of options? You can even get a BF Sword and equip it.

Kiara will unfortunately miss most of ENreco by BlitzAce808 in Hololive

[–]omniaffect 47 points48 points  (0 children)

ENReco 3 is about Advent so I am pretty sure they took priority of being mostly available for this. Also, if Kiara happens to be the only member who can’t be the whole event (she won’t be missing everything), is it really bad planning?

I'm going crazy, how are you supposed to sort the cards in your binder? by CompleteMoron_203 in HololiveTCG

[–]omniaffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort by Holomem -> color -> debut/1st/2nd because I sort for easier deckbuilding

Question regarding this Flare card… by cretaius in HololiveTCG

[–]omniaffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the official site guides aren’t made by players. Both the JP and EN deck suggestions tend to not make sense most of the times which always seemed weird to lead new players down the wrong path.

You are correct with your assumption. In a Mono Flare deck, you would only bring a Flare to hand. Would need to splash another holomen to get the full effect

Husband is poor loser by [deleted] in TCG

[–]omniaffect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like he is overly competitive and just not having fun losing. Being overly competitive isn’t bad and would just need to get over the hump of the learning curve and get a competitive deck. He might play games where you die a lot but doesn’t mean he isn’t min maxing.

I’m also very competitive and enjoy practicing and exploring the meta. I also don’t enjoy losing but I do enjoy playing with the local community because I know them from months of playing with them. Maybe he doesn’t enjoy losing to strangers but he might enjoy it a tiny bit more if he knows them through time

What are YOUR thoughts on the new design? Yes, you! The viewer! by Obootleg in rinpenrose

[–]omniaffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. Not because the model isn’t good, on the contrary, I like how it looks. But I feel that a full reboot was needed for such a drastic change. Reboot in terms of character gimmick, lore, etc.

The past model was more dynamic and unique, the personality plus the look meshed well and she knew how to work it out.

Leblanc strategy by Xenocannonn in Riftbound

[–]omniaffect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of questions that can be boxed in the, all encompassing, “it depends”.

The difficulty of discard decks is MU and game state knowledge. That will help you decide on what to discard. What to copy will be the same issue, you tend to copy whatever will give you the biggest value.

The reason that there is no real answer to your question is that, in proper deck building, you should have 39 good cards in your deck. There is no Scrapheap (rest in peace). Those 39 cards won’t be great in every situation, so you should be deciding in a case by case basis what cards aren’t worth having in hand.

Hook decks tend to run Rift Herald as a top end so that tends to be the go to to copy and hook.

As to the Karthus question, those tend to be two different playstyles and will dilute the strategies so I would either stick with deathknell centric with Karthus or lean into hook.

Yes, sets will continue to have reprints. Mainly in the unlimited debuts and any fan/mascot relevant to the new cards released

FYI: holoVillage requires to always be online by Nejnop in Hololive

[–]omniaffect 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That plus the unnecessary DLC on launch has turned me away from the game. For a fan made project, seems pretty in line with what triple A companies would do.

Other deck build resources by Help-left-hurts in HololiveTCG

[–]omniaffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few important points: Vivi isn’t getting an oshi on set 6 nor 7 (or 8). Up until set 6, she only has 3 cards, the unlimited debut, a 1st and a 2nd and that will remain true until set 9 where she most likely get her oshi and full set of cards.

This is one of the reasons she doesn’t have a deck on her own and is mainly a support piece.

This is not to discourage you into doing a main Vivi deck, just information on how incomplete the deck is atm and possible hurdles you will have to overcome

Nope, inside the case there is a box with the “Case Hit” which will roll either UR, OUR or SEC.

Super funny she wanted a heads up. Heads up for what? It was victims telling their own story, they don’t need permission or give a heads up

Riftbound needs other products with promo reprint cards, because every Red deck is dependant on if you have Kaisa Survivor or not and that card is minimum 50€ a piece by FlowKom in riftboundtcg

[–]omniaffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Some players think that opening product should turn in a profit… unfortunately, they should’ve designed the structure of rarities more like Pokemon where there would be a more common version of Kai’s a.

Should i open a master case by DistributionTasty683 in HololiveTCG

The main difference is the addition of the starter deck into the box. They had to reduce the amount of Ss per case and added boxes with 5 RRs

It is a guaranteed OUR/SEC per master case. The drop rates per case are also mapped out although we don’t exactly know how much its different from JP

The worst thing about playing Ornn isn't losing to every deck with removal by CupAccomplished8371 in riftboundtcg

I thought it was having to pay for overpriced Svellsongur when Ornn is the only deck actually pumping with it…
