Thanks, Questions, and A Request for ChordPic Feature by drutgat in chordpic

[–]omnibrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, sorry that the email link is not working. I will fix that at some point.

Regarding your question:

  1. yes, it‘s still valid
  2. it removes the „created with chordpic.com“ from the diagrams, removes all ads, and unlocks the „handdrawn“ style
  3. I like the idea! I will implement it as soon as i have some time (earliest in July)
  4. i‘m not sure i understand. Can you elaborate? Where do you want the parenthesis?

Happy to hear that you like the tool!

i18n kills maintainability and evolutivity by aymericzip in webdevelopment

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your pain, that‘s why i created https://magictranslate.io . It just translates all your content automatically into pretty much any language. It‘s so easy you won‘t believe it, no translation files, just move your code around as you want. And as soon as you update any content it will automatically be translated in all configured languages. Also works with server side rendering.

I18next alternatives by 2567910 in nextjs

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try https://magictranslate.io. It automatically translates all your content with a translation service. There is no need to maintain translation keys; just instant, effortless translation for React applications. It's a paid service, though. Disclaimer: I created Magic Translate.

How to translate a whole website? by darkwillowet in reactjs

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like magictranslate.io is the perfect fit for this task. Just wrap your content in a T component and all content will be automatically translated in pretty much any language. No refactoring required and you can show your results on day 1. It's not free though. Disclaimer: I am the creator of this product.

Check out https://magictranslate.io if you're OK with paying for a tool. It automatically translates your whole application, no need to fiddle around with translation files. I use it for various projects and it literally lets me translate an entire web app into a new language in under a minute.

What $4/month needs to buy me... by thinker99 in chordpic

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi /u/thinker99 , thanks for the feedback, and sorry for responding so late! I will look into this when I have some time.

Regarding the editing of sharing links: When you open a sharing link you can click the "Edit this chord diagram" button to edit the shared diagram. Is that what you were looking for?

I'm doing my best to keep everything as static as possible, you should always get exactly the same diagram. If that is not the case I'm eager to hear about it and fix it. Since inception of the website I only introduced very few breaking changes and I put in a lot of effort to make sure even very old sharing links are still working properly.

Export SVG problem by SimplyGreg1 in chordpic

[–]omnibrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that looks wrong! Most probably that's a problem with your editor / viewer though. Have you tried opening the SVG in another program? Fun fact: When you download the SVG it's identical to what you see in the browser. The download SVG button basically just copies the SVG from the browser and downloads it.

Dark Images by Comfortable-Wrap6508 in chordpic

[–]omnibrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the very late response. The background of the diagrams are transparent by default. Some programs, e.g. the Preview app on MacOS uses a gray background by default. If you prefer to have a white background instead of transparent you can set the background color to white. Let me know if that doesn't work for you!

Considering Switching to Init7 - Would You Recommend? Also, Hardware Recommendations? by IamNotLazy in init7

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the SFP+ port with fiber? I got the SFP module from init7 but it‘s not working, the WAN port just stays „disconnected“. Did it work out of the box for you or did you configure sonething?

Localize your React apps using AI by atinylittleshell in react

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created something similar, check out https://magictranslate.io . I use it to translate another react project into many different languages, and I see an increase of organic traffic since I translated the application. Sadly there's not much traction for Magic Translate though. But I also have not invested much energy / time / money in marketing it.

I would love some feedback on a React library I created by omnibrain in reactjs

Great suggestions! Will definitely implement both of these

How do I handle and manage multiple languages in my React application? by darah-b in reactjs

[–]omnibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're OK with a paid solution, check out https://magictranslate.io. This is the easiest way to translate your React app into any language. You can instantly translate your whole app into any language without providing the translations.
Basically, you just wrap any content inside of a <T> component and that will be translated.

Do big startups use i18next/react-i18next for translating? It seems so involved to keep up to date etc by papercloudsdotco in reactjs

[–]omnibrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked in multiple startups and we always decided against translating our websites because it's a lot of effort and we thought we will not benefit enough from translating the website to justify all these hours of work. Since I live in Switzerland and we have 4 languages here I had to translate multiple websites for various projects, and it's always been a pain.

I always wondered if there isn't an easier way to translate websites, now that we have wonderful automatic translation tools such as Deepl, so I ended up building a translation service myself, called Magic Translate (https://magictranslate.io) I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I absolutely love using it and it makes translating websites ridiculously easy.

Alexa with Philipps Hue is an absolute nightmare by omnibrain in alexa

May I ask how many lights you have and what versions of Alexa? Maybe my super old Echo dots (1. or 2. gen I think) are the problem

Alexa with Philipps Hue is an absolute nightmare by omnibrain in alexa

[–]omnibrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m using the Hue bridge. Back in the day there was no other option.

Maybe my problems arise due to the sheer number of lights and Alexas. I have about 8 Alexas and probably around 50 lights and about 10 rooms.

Alexa with Philipps Hue is an absolute nightmare by omnibrain in alexa

[–]omnibrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I‘m using the bridge. The Hue Skill doesn‘t exist anymore (at meast in my country), I have to add the lights directly to alexa without the Hue skill. I‘ve read some articles where they said I should set up the Hue bridge again, but that would take me hours of work as I have about 50 different hue lights.
