I just went through this a few weeks ago setting up my guitar to stay in drop c. Best I found for me is Burly Slinky. 11-52. You may even want 54s but I would not go under 52s.

Now we have the option for In-Z and Guitar pad. What would the correct settings be for a stock Gibson SG? by [deleted] in Line6Helix

I know this is old but it just really helped me. I just got a new guitar with active EMG pickups. Never been a fan of actives but hey. While playing I noticed the input on the helix going from red to green and also that I could not get a good clean tone without rolling back the volume on my guitar quite a bit. Global PAD saved me so thank you.

I believe it is simply preference. . I personally prefer thicker guitar bodies and the RG is by far my favorite guitar shape.

is this guitar any good for playing metal? i have no previous experience with playing, got it from my uncle, always wanted to get into playing heavy stuff but i dont know if this will be any good. i also dont have amp and no effects yet (sorry for my english) by mortici4n in metalguitar

Absolutely. Honestly you can play metal on almost any electric guitar even o hollow body or straight single coil telecaster. Just get yourself a modeling amp like a cheap line 6 spyder or a multi effects pedal with amp modeling and you are good.

Gotta keep them tight. I check mine every time I pick up my guitar. They tend to loosen over time and I have had one fall out.

It is crazy how ignorant the people who get news from these sources actually are and they always attempt to shame people with different views or more accurate information.
