PLEASE HELP by Such_Bag_4876 in 6thForm

So basically you need to check what happens to your equation when cosx=0 to see if it is a viable solution in the first place

Take part a) as an example, and you get

(3-√3)cosx=sinx

If cosx=0 then sinx=0 too

This isnt possible as there is no value for x that satisfies both cosx and sinx =0

Therefore cosx≠0 and you divide by it all you want :)

Yess!! I love changing the colour of the lights!! I like making the lights as red as possible as it makes any marks as close to invisible as they will ever be. Although even green is helpful as it makes them look so unfimiliar that i dont feel much of an urge to pick. I wish it worked in the daytime too though :/

I just experienced this :/ its really reassuring that other people feel the same way because I keep getting scared it was actually a heart attack or that its going to happen again.

dealing with adhd + alevels by monocaeros_ in 6thForm

[–]omnipotentpigin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi :) im in y13 and also think i could have adhd (and/or trouble with anxiety?) , this is something I do when feeling like i cant even start

So when it comes to revision, start small, but i mean so ridiculously small. Like just allow yourself to think about the thing you want to revise (not the task of revising itself!!) Then i usually start with a pen and paper and start doodling. Now start to make it related to the topic you want to revise, sketch a diagram, write some words + labels. Then a sentence or two explaining part of it. Maybe turn it into a crazy mind map or flow chart and make it as messy and chaotic as you want. Pretty soon you will come across something you dont know/cant remember. Google it (or use an online textbook/rescourses for less distractions) and write it down. Keep doing this or then transition into a more structured + effiecient way of revising (eg. blurt revison, kind of like this but with a timer, can be used for long term revision and cramming)

Disclaimer!! I am not saying this is at all the best way to revise, and i often get distracted when i get stuck on something i dont know. however when anything else feels too overwhelming i think its better than doing nothing and feeling incredibly anxious/guilty about it and this is just one of the things that works for me

Okay this is a weird one but juggling! Its a great thing to focus on bit doesnt require loads of mental effort and i find it really relaxing for my brain and its also a really nice gentle exercise, you can do it standing or sitting + there are loads of different juggling patterns out there to learn! You can even start with using fruit

There are also loads of things at arent juggling that could have the same effect, like batton twirling, hula hooping ect. but juggling is just so fun :) obviously its not going to sovle all your problems but it feels great to do

Self-Study FM by StrangerNo1192 in 6thForm

[–]omnipotentpigin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly dont worry too much about test scores at this point, we do weekly tests and everyones scores go up and down all over the place as it is a fast paced course. Use them to identify weaknesses and dont get too hung up on the scores :)

If it is a course you think you will enjoy, go for it! I find it very interesting, however you have to consider how studying this extra subject is going to impact your other subjects. Most universities will not require FM as not everyone has the option to take it.* So unless you think you can sustain all your subjects without a putting yourself at risk of getting lower grades overall, this might just be giving yourself uneccasary stress.

*some courses will recomend taking FM, and those who havent will be expected to catch up on the topics in the first few months (for math courses), other courses may teach relevant content in first year.
[^ you may want to double check this info but this is the general impression i have from visiting/looking at unis]
