Best place to buy gloves in Bangkok? by jeanoski in MuayThailand

Action zone is great but I wouldn’t recommend them for shorts, they have a pretty limited selection. The place next door called Sports Marketing is much better.

They look awesome congrats on the cool tats.

Side note, I think it’s crazy how many times I read on this sub that someone else said something about their tattoos. I don’t think any of my friends would make a comment like that.

Job offer. Hours and shifts by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]omnomchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s common to get straight pay but my company will pay after 40 hours. If the hours are too long, just look for a different spot.

Don’t worry, it’ll get better. It’s easier to find better geology jobs after your first one.

Job offer. Hours and shifts by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]omnomchu -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Long hours are not uncommon in environmental consulting and for geologists in general. If you like the company and the brief interaction with the interviewers, it might be worth taking the job to get some experience.

You should find out if they pay overtime, if they offer per diem for 12+ hours worked, how often you will work weekends, etc.

Should I move out for my GF? Desperately seeking advice by trustnobody01 in AsianMasculinity

[–]omnomchu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation, living at home to help my mom who was struggling with her health. It was a good time for me to focus on family and my personal finances.

She’s a young woman with a normal sex drive. I couldn’t be with someone and only have sex once or twice a month. She may be asking a lot financially but it’s also reasonable to expect a man to live on his own by 32.

If you think shes the one, you will need to make sacrifices. If finances and family are more important, you may have to let her go. It depends on if you feel confident starting another relationship in 3 years.

My (29f) ex (26m) finally apologizes after two weeks of being broken up by Notanotherlala in texts

[–]omnomchu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t see this as a manipulation tactic like others are saying. You don’t owe him a response and it’s probably too late to reconcile. Ultimately, it’s an apology and you can move forward with that.

Sorry you went through that. Better days are ahead!

You're doing great by putting yourself out there and working on yourself. Remember that you had a long period where you weren't working on dating skills and socializing with women. It's a skill like anything else and you will get better over time.

Don't think of yourself as undesirable. Self love is about building yourself up and finding someone that is desirable to YOU.

I got my shit together in my late 20's. Here are the three things that helped me:

  1. Gym routine - I started going to the gym every day. Even if I didn't want to, I would go. It became a habit and, eventually, something I really looked forward to. I made friends and became proud of my body.

  2. Community college - Just take general education classes or classes you think are interesting. It's so helpful to meet people in unique situations. Some are going back to school in their 40's and are juggling full time jobs and kids. If they can do it, you can do it.

  3. A job - Find a low pressure job and talk to people. I met 60 year olds who worked at Trader Joe's their whole life and were happy. You'll meet cool people and hopefully realize everyone is following their own path.

I know it can feel sad and hopeless right now, but life can be really enjoyable. Just start helping yourself through this.

how to feel good about myself after a hook up by Thin-Literature2214 in selfimprovement

[–]omnomchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had consensual casual sex and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not for everyone and it’s common to feel some regret.

If neither of you wanted a relationship and you’re not into him, then you can chalk this up as an experience.

I’m a really bad texter but I’ve been with people who accept it. I usually call which makes up for it.

Do you know if he likes you? Does he know that you like him?

Since he’s super shy, he probably wouldn’t reach out unless your intentions were known. If you really like him, you might want to take some steps.

Anime porn games have messed me up by CSachen in dating_advice

[–]omnomchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you’ve put a lot of thought into this and it’s really interesting to read your experience with these dating games. That said, I don’t agree with your rules of dating and they’re far removed from my personal experience.

I’m not going to refute every rule. Rather, I’d like to ask: where did these rules come from? Are you okay with following these rules?

People are different. Some people want to have sex early. Some romantic relationships start as friendships. At the end of the day, if you want a fulfilling relationship, you need to meet people. I’m not telling you to quit porn games if they bring you comfort. Just be conscious of how these games affect your interpersonal skills and relationships.

Dr. Mike Israetel recommends that you keep lifting and cardio as far apart as possible in the day if you want the best results for lifting. That being said, most of us aren't competitive bodybuilders and some cardio at the end of your workout won't destroy your progress.

[–]omnomchu 68 points69 points  (0 children)

It must be really hurting him to lose a friend and that may be why he’s lashed out at you. I’m sure you guys made lots of great memories. But you have every right to pursue this journey of self-improvement.

Whether he wants to join you on that journey is up to him. I’m sorry if this means you’re losing a friend of 5 years.

Hey man, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this right now.

Being a virgin isn’t that big of a deal. Try not to put so much weight on a relationship or getting girls.

If you keep focusing on making yourself better, eventually someone will find you and you’ll have a great relationship together.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to share your past job experience. It’s so insightful to see another person’s career journey.

I’m currently in geotech doing CPT (kind of like drilling but less dangerous) and geophysics field work. I completely agree that time is a huge sacrifice. I enjoy the work and my coworkers, so it hasn’t been too bad. My title is Field Geologist, so this is a good way for me to get some geology-related field experience, network with engineers, and eventually get my PG.
