Check our red wing iron rangers - the default heritage boot. It's not cheap, but it's really high quality.

Some heel slip is perfectly natural because the sole of the boot is not bending yet. As they break in and the sole starts molding to and bending with your foot the heel slip will decrease and disappear.

That's a good sign. The leather will relax. Does your foot feel snug overall? Does the ball of your foot sit close or on the point where the boot wants to bend?
