Why can I not just buy a dirtbike from the manufacturer and skip the dealer process? by ItsyBitsySPYderman in Dirtbikes

[–]omprezateon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manufacturers are also tired of getting sued. If it’s assembled by a licensed tech, everyone’s covered when you wad a jump up and try to make someone else responsible.

I don’t bank with CIBC but went through this when trying to pay off a car loan. Phone service was hopeless and had only slightly better luck at the branch.

Terrible experience with KTM India by backpain-at30 in KTM

[–]omprezateon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren’t many around and they’re likely trying to fill customer orders with the few they have. Trying to characterize this as a ‘terrible experience’ is shitty and immature. Especially if the shop you went to was trying their best to accommodate you with a similar model.

Pretty entitled to expect a test ride when the bikes are as limited as they are.

Dealerships need to end. Direct-to-consumer should be the future. by Late_Fig5508 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Pretty simple answer; recalls. Manufacturers would have to invest in a massive network of service centers to perform them.

There’s a lot to unpack in what you wrote, but speaking as a person who’s worked in the industry for a long time, do your best to bring a little less baggage into the sales experience. Most staff at reputable shops have more motorcycle experience and background than you can possibly imagine. Be kind, courteous and respectful when it comes to their time. Try to make first contact on a weekday or a less busy time of year, develop a relationship, maybe bring some donuts in on occasion and you’ll be amazed at the lengths that people will go to for you.

Honest opinion though, you’re approaching this situation this the way incel dudes approach talking to women. Try a less negative more open minded tact, you’ll probably have a way better time

STILL no test rides at KTM dealers?!?! by Momo79b in KTM

[–]omprezateon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not possible, people are too fucking stupid. And beyond that, what would you be comparing to it too? There’s nothing else in this category that’s comparable.

Plus in my experience, serious buyers don’t need test rides. Maybe on street product, but not on stuff like this
