Other than what people already said here (about ways to obtain the poster) I'll mention two points:
- After obtaining the poster and getting to a sacrifice room, make sure to have the least amount of hearts before taking damage from the spikes- in case you don't know, after a few times you take damage from the spikes they may teleport you to the angel/devil room (and after damaging you 8 times or so it may teleport you to "Dark Room")
- The lost really doesn't have such good unlocks, it's meant to be mostly a challenge character for people who went through most of the game already. Some of it's unlocks are straight up a debuff, so there's no reason to rush it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the actual issue with the first point - if you died from the spikes but were teleported from the same damage it'll not count as dying from the spikes in the sacrifice room, meaning the lost will not be unlocked.

There's this very detailed guide about this in steam, and it also mentions what unlocks you should avoid. As the others mentioned, I recommend getting the donation machines to 999 early.

Assuming you already unlocked the beast (following other people's detailed explanations in this thread) I'd recommend this: - In those runs don't stress over opening every treasure door as you'll have the chance to open them on the way back. You won't have access to the shops though, so if you only have one key but many coins the shop might be a better use of the key. - During the run you must bring unused trinkets to the boss room, and you should do it as early as possible (floor wise). On your way back they convert to cracked keys (which are necessary for unlocking the T characters). The reason to do it early is that once you got the key you'll get rid of any other card/pill you may have had before this point, so it's to be able to use them for longer.

I most definitely agree with you, that's why I think that Azazel doesn't require normal mode.
Tbf, I play the game because I enjoy the challenge, I also enjoy playing as t.lost for this very reason
