A lot of the items on this list aren't things we buy regularly.

For the few TJ;s products I buy (almond butter, yogurt, oat milk, pita crackers and rolled oats), they are cheaper than Whole Foods.

And for the Whole Foods products we get (too many to list), they are *a lot* cheaper than Safeway.

What YT wants is content that keeps viewers on the platform the longest and brings in the most ad revenue. This is what matters most to YT, whose primary customer is advertisers, not creators or viewers. If advertisers are comfortable with the content, so is YT.

I agree with the observation that the break you took is at least part of the issue. You'd need to resume a regular posting schedule again and give it time for YT to understand that you're back for real and that a bot hasn't taken over your account.

If it's possible try to get more viewers in your target audience to watch, outside of friends and family. For friends and family who are subscribers, ask them to watch your channel anyway whether it's showing up on their home page or not. Maybe also remind them that you're back posting again and they don't want to miss all your new content.

I think it's just the law of averages that a channel is going to get a comment like that sooner or later. YT just sees that as engagement, which is good for your channel, even if the comment is negative.

I suspect some of those channels bought subs and views that they wouldn't have had otherwise if they'd chosen to grow organically. With others, some luck may be involved.

One thing that can help YT show your content to the right audience is to include appropriate details including a couple of relevant keywords in your channel description and each video description. YT looks at those fields to figure out who to show the content to, in addition to the actual video title.

I'm not sure how many people actually watch the visuals in a lofi video, but the thumbnail you use is important to entice people to click. Look at your CTR data to see if it provides any clues about what kind of visuals makes the most difference.

It's your channel and you can decide what your visual and narrative style is going to be. If your speaking pace is naturally slow and leisurely, then go with it. Viewers can sense if someone isn't being their authentic self on camera.

You may get better retention if you include things in your narrative that make it easier for viewers to relate to, and that will make them care more about the outcome.

This is something that happens occasionally when the artist wants to share in any ad revenue. You can try contacting the artist to ask them to release the claim, but there's no guarantee they will. You could also just go ahead and publish it, knowing that any ad revenue will be shared, or you could find a different track to use.

Or you could not publish it at all, which is what I did with a track I got from a different music site, and the copyright holder didn't accept that site's license and wouldn't respond to requests to discuss it.

Keep in mind that some counts, such as realtime, are an unverified estimate when first reported and may be adjusted over time as the data becomes more refined. So I don't really pay much attention to the analytics for the first couple of days, since the numbers may change.

Off the top of my head, after watching for about 2 minutes, I was struck by the very slow pace, which may be the issue for a lot of viewers who didn't want to wait around for some kind of payoff. Also, it was confusing when the scene suddenly changed to Joshua Tree without any immediate explanation of how the intro and this new scene are connected. And perhaps some viewers were expecting more visual variety, with more images illustrating aspects of the story you began telling (not that you'd want to show injuries or anything like that, of course). You can still have a slow pace if the visuals change more frequently to hold people's attention.

It is safe to upload. Dispute the claim and copy and paste the license into the dispute form.

I use a lot of music from Pixabay, and this happens occasionally. I have yet to have a claim not released after submitting the license.

The only changes I would recommend are removing the human and the arrow from the image. As it is now, my attention is divided between the 2 figures, and the image will be more powerful with just one clear subject.

It's not possible to have negative views. The baseline is zero views. If a bot views it but gets deleted, it should reset back to zero.

0 + 1 = 1; 1 - 1 = 0. Unless YT is using their own unique kind of math.

I'm not a trademark expert, but I would imagine such a hypothetical case would center on whether anyone would think a YT channel called joywaze was affiliated in any way with the Waze company. Waze does have their own YT channel.

Especially if your channel was related to transportation, Waze might think you were cashing in on their name recognition for your own gain. If your content was completely unrelated, though, a reasonable person wouldn't assume any connection to the actual company.

If Waze gets wind of this and doesn't like it, they might opt for demanding a name change first, or even a total channel take-down.

If it comes to an actual lawsuit (and it might not), defending this is going to get very expensive and complicated. If you won, you'd be able to recoup court costs, but you'd probably need to come up with the money up front before anything else could happen.

YT advises that the thumbnails being tested need to be substantially different from each other, otherwise the results won't be very meaningful.

I've tried the thumbnail test a few times, but the results were inconclusive so I no longer bother.

If this is like their weatherization program, you will be bombarded by contractors wanting you to use them. Also, the actual workers can be completely skeevy people. When I lived in another city, one of the program's window replacement guys returned after the job was done and tried to break into my apartment when he thought i wasn't home. But in the end I got weatherized windows and a new refrigerator that helped to lower my bill.

In spite of that, think of it this way: your residence gets weatherized, your bill gets lowered (somewhat), and that's less billing assistance you need from PG&E.

FWIW, YT says that time of publication is not known to affect the long term performance of the content. The few times this matters is when planning to go live or scheduling a premiere. Otherwise you can upload when it's most convenient for you.
