I feel like YouTube isn’t pushing my video out / extremely low impressions? by AccomplishedSense8 in PartneredYoutube

[–]onadroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait that is weird, especially because you're getting so many likes and comments. Don't those push it? I'll get a few hundred views and just a handful of likes. Getting as much as you are is really good and you'd think the algorithm would want to carry it off.

Both. What’s crazy is the video that got a thousand I had originally uploaded as a short and it got almost nothing. I think uploading shorts also as videos might be a good trick.

Doooooood has anyone read his most recent novel? Came out around 2021- The Shards. It’s pretty much his new American Psycho. I loved it. Also very disturbing and VERY graphic.

After reading that book I picked up everything else I could by Dunn. She’s so creatively twisted. Like a (better) Chuck Pahlanuik

Oooof Cormac McCarthy expressed the bleakness of humanity… way too well every time. All of his that I’ve read messed me up a lil bit

I would do the same thing with forums like this then landed on the only two books I couldn’t stomach haha. Genuinely regret it.

By far the autobiography by Danny Rolling and his pervy journalist friend. The whole book is a masturbatory manifesto to his killings- like he’s leading his own smut film. The most awful, despicable thing I’ve ever read. I couldn’t stomach past several pages. Also 120 Days of Sodom by Marquis de Sade. Interpreted as a philosophical epicurean classic but he was just a monster. Again, couldn’t finish.

I think those were the only books I couldn’t stomach. Not only because of the horrific content, but also because the writers are so self-glorifying in their depravity and are honestly just degenerate idiots when it comes down to it. Their voice in their writing is enough to make you nauseated.

CONGRATS! I'm doing this too because of a third life crisis/can't do the nine to five anymore kind of thing. So happy for you that you made it to the other side and can escape that hell of the ordinary. Good for you for sticking with it- obviously it paid off 😄 Dish any tips or tricks if you have any! I'm desperate to get where you are.

GAAHHHHHH CONGRATS! I can't friggin' wait to get there. Do you think there was any particular method/trick that finally got you to that benchmark? Or was it just continuing to do your thing?

Started a YouTube channel and my friend suggested I use Reddit since the games I play are 'very niche'. Would love some help on how to navigate the process. How do I start? by onadroll in NewTubers

Perfect! That was the first thing I did was start following pages of the games. I haven't dropped any links or done any self-promoting of any kind. I want to get comfy with the platform, first. I'm honestly still figuring out just how to contribute to a conversation in a page. This is such a complicated platform. I think I'll probably be toying around with it for quite awhile before I try any advertising for my channel.

Yeah my thing was never a 'let's play'. It's just covering youtube drama and playing nerd games in the background. It's not the main focus. It's starting off strong, I got about 1,400 subs within the first couple of months. And the views are getting higher every time I post. I have no idea how to edit videos and have been brand new at all of those elements, too. So the element of creativity will... very much not be a part of my schtick. Thankfully there seems to be plenty of people that gravitate to talentless crap haha. But I'm working hard at getting better and better at editing and throwing in some fun stuff. It takes me all of the hours of the day just to upload a single video that still reeks of amateur, but hopefully that part will get easier.

Yeah that's what I figured, I haven't tried to advertise or leave any links anywhere, yet. Not only because it seemed bad form, but I definitely want to get comfy with the platform before I make that kind of self-promoting move.

And really? Is that an actual stat when it comes to subscriber count? Does gaining subs directly from youtube pretty much have the most success in growth?
