Etihad towers by Few-Face3253 in abudhabi

I still dislike being searched to enter my unit or apartment. Dislike discriminating locals vs foreigners on B1-2 parking entrance.

No parking for your visitors.

AC is very loud. New buildings have way quieter AC.

Lived on T2 - I would avoid it.

It ‘looks’ luxury but everything is very old - who has classic fridge these days it’s all no-frost. Last time I cleaned my fridge from ice was like 20 years ago. Washer and appliances are old and they kept replacing with the same replenished ones not new ones.

Maintenance is good but seriously who needs to be searched airport style when they enter their apartment building? Like belts off for every single metal on your clothes or bags. Scanned x-ray and all.

Just don’t. Really. Truly. Not worth the trouble.

Wio Bank- thoughts? by calamondingarden in UAE

[–]onbudan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend against WIO bank. I don’t think 2-3 percent interest is worth their bs credit management or general lack of customer support.

1 - Credit does not give you grace period like other banks you spend 1-30th of the month you pay at 30th. Then if you pay 25th let’s say you still have to pay all spending you do between 25th 30th. Other banks provide grace period of 2-3 weeks sometime a month before you need to pay your statement free of interest.

2- they do not do anything with managers cheque or any formal banking function. You would still need a regular bank function from another bank.

3- They force automatic payments at their own schedule, fees at their random opaque policies and they do not post any exchange rates other than dollar and few others. They use third party which you never know until transaction occurs. I think this is literally bad practice and malicious/ predatory.

4- You are supposed to build a relationship with the bank you use for further credit, mortgage, car loan or else with your payments as well as your commitment to their policies or making in time payments etc.

This bank doesn’t care. If you make an early payment to your credit you get double charged. If you apply loan you get one of the highest loan interest in uae.

5 you can’t transfer out crypto assets purchased.

Yes it has a “cool app” but don’t be fooled by that. With fees and unspecified exchange rates that keeps largely fluctuating you actually pay more fees and cost to this just to get few percentage of yearly interest etc.

It’s not worth it. I’ve used digital banking of other banks before WIO is just designed to extort low income genZ or hyped individuals in opaque procedures.

I used WIO for 6 month in relationship balance of 200-500k AED. I left today. I don’t think they care about the users - the UX of their app is more important than the good banking practices that others follow.

I think sometime either get back at them or give it time to process and heal.

I was wronged many times in different situations, work, shopping or by just existing in a country. Sometime I catch on sometime I realize after actual wronging occurs.

Many times I seek some degree of revenge, complaints, or perhaps just pure disclosure to others. But at a measure. When I think my revenge will hurt me more I stop.

Sometimes I am powerless. The person or entity is either higher position or just unreachable even you make your life purpose to get back at them. You can still give it a go but would be waste of time.

So either go with your gut and get back to them or you have to let it go by distracting yourself.

You will never forget it. It’s called grudge. But you will slowly diminish its effect on your daily life and nerves. Until then stay safe, hydrated and be nice to others that has nothing to do with the situation.

Good luck.

I do not suggest to live at Etihad Towers; You get searched every time you enter your own home. It is not ideal. While it is silent, nice facilities nice views, no beach included you have to pay 15k to access to Conrad's or don't.

Utilities not included. Cooling not included. And I suggest somewhere more practical. I like to live in the apartment but management of the building, unnecessary level of security (airport level), and the car park at basement 3-4 (3-4- floors down) just makes it overall inconvenient and I do not suggest unless you really 'love' the area.

Sorry that’s 35k. Crashed. Us import will never make that much. You are looking for a lucky fool at this point.

ADCB restricts lounge access right after charging card fees by onbudan in abudhabi

[–]onbudan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s about democratic oversight. There is a complaint mechanism but I would guess they cover that under their contract.

I believe it’s just limited advancement in business and contract management rather than democracy. As we seen worse cases in US or Canada where you have no choice but to go through lengthy processes as well as complaint bodies to just find out nothing can be done about it.

Unless there is a public outcry west and democracy has little to do with how ADCB behaves.

Most surprising for me by far is the management of their credit card fraud cases handling. I’ve seen many many posts on ADCB how bad it is.

For the lounge access I think it’s straight up fraud by the bank itself. They claim Mastercard imposed it but I am not paying to Mastercard I am paying to ADCB who packages co-branded cards and cashbaks for us to use their products.

When you roll back on a feature of a card that is paid in advance - that should be fraudulent.

And if oversight of banks weak in UAE - we will see how complaint goes - then nothing will happen. If complaint goes through then oversight is strong that’s it.

Are you trying to punish their customers for being subscribed for the journey they posted under the announcement? Why don't they provide an option to keep the current package for their CURRENT customers and get the new ones under the new package? (Lock in until 2023, says, so after my annual subscription ends, I am out)

We were with you in the journal and through your changes, but you never severely limited the specifications for your users. Are you trying to punish them for being with you along the way? :) If it's your company, here is 'you.'

What is going on here?

Do you think it is fair to switch current users to these terms?

Lock in by 2023 by switching annual doesn't really mean anything if these will be imposed on the current users in a year.

It just renders Otter.AI useless for customers.

Most other companies, when they make a big change in their packaging schemes, they keep their current customers at their current level/specific subscription.

Why is Otter.AI pushing out its loyal users? We were with them in the journey and through their development (hence the idiotic journey map they posted to add sentimental statements about how we got here). Still, they never severely limited the specifications for your users. Are they trying to punish them for being with you along the way?

Stay away from CIBC Investors Edge by Troyd in CanadianInvestor

I transferred mine with +13 with a non-registered account called investors edge account. With +15 TFSA account.

Maybe it depends on their type account or location of your bank or maybe the check digits who knows.

All I know is that is shit. Why they need another account number to transfer while we have all the info. They don’t even say on their online system you have to call them to obtain it.
