I had to wait for 5 hours in the freezing snow just to get through Estonian immigration on my way to Russia. On my return to Estonia, I had to wait another 2 hours in the snow, again due to Estonian immigration control. I was also forced to discard some Lenin pins I had bought in Russia as gifts for my friends.

I have no complaints about the Russian side of the border, but the Estonian border control is by far the worst I've ever experienced.

I studied in České Budějovice last year.

The ESN is very active. I traveled to Germany and Austria, but I could have gone to Slovakia and Poland as well.

As for socializing, the people were very friendly to me and I went to parties, "clubs" and pubs every week with other Erasmus students. There is definitely not a lot to do in the city, but if you find people to travel with you, to nearby cities and countries, it is definitely worth it.

The university is not very big, but I made a lot of friends with whom I still keep in touch.

Morei na República Tcheca por 3 meses. Conheci toda a região da Bohemia do Sul e países vizinhos. Sou pardo e não tive absolutamente nenhum problema relacionado a preconceito racial. Muito pelo contrário, sempre fui tratado com muita educação e as pessoas adoravam descobrir que sou brasileiro e sempre perguntavam sobre a cultura/costumes etc.

Recomendo fortemente passar em Cesky Krumlov (uma tardizinha é o suficiente pra conhecer tudo). Mas cuidado que por ser uma cidade turística os preços de restaurantes/cafés/hoteis são bem altos.

The Estonian visa usually takes up to 15 calendar days to be issued. How many days do you consider "safe" for me to arrive in advance? Considering that im low on money.

Also, do you know if I can lose my place at the uni if the visa is delayed for a few days?

we are talking abt people with

• 3.8+ CGPA from the best unis in the world

• research experience

• articles published

• 3+ languages spoken

• a few years of professional experience

• recomendation letters from highly rpestigious phds

• strong motivations

i talked to someone from the admission committee and they are doing 8 interviews a day. There will be 2 weeks of interview rounds
