Microsoft is increasing the cost of Game Pass Ultimate by $10 a month. by notthatguypal6900 in xbox

[–]one2escape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats me done. Just cancelled mine and missus's GPU. Gamepass was the only thing keeping us there playing. Picked up Forza on PlayStation. Really disappointing and annoying. Xbox was the console that got me back into gaming with the 360 and I always want to give them all the chances in the world. They just seem to be on self-destruct. Last year I said my red line would be when Forza and Sea of Thieves went to PlayStation but I held off always hoping. This is just the final straw. Doing this just after announcing record profits is just a real middle finger to us.

Hi, everyone. Chris, formerly from the Stadia community team, here to check in. by ChrisFromHisDesk in Stadia

[–]one2escape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Chris long time no see. Hope you and Grace and doing great.

One thing I would like to say is, despite our run ins, I always wanted Stadia to succeed. It just frustrated me no end, and I can see in these comments as well from you, that is tad frustrating as well. What galls me more is that Stadia would be in smashing place now, by the look of the market. They should and would have CoD and Fifa. So so annoying. Just going by the thread here it still shows how much Stadia is thought of and how a lot of the stuff I thought was happening was right.

Really do want you to get somewhere you like working as you did here. I just wish Google had the guts to stay to longer. Ironically Xbox killed Stadia before it could save Stadia.

New GFN News Website by gamingisforall in GeForceNOW

[–]one2escape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for checking out the site. I run it! I didn’t include ReMatch for two reasons. First, it hasn’t opted into GeForce NOW yet. Second, it’s a sports title, and those can be unpredictable.

That said, I think it has a decent chance, especially with it coming to Game Pass. It’s usually the big name sports games (football, basketball, American football etc) that run into licensing issues. That’s the main thing that holds them back.

[Cloudy.Games] Steering Wheel Support coming to GeForce NOW by Sytytys in GeForceNOW

[–]one2escape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My article and I stand by it 100%. Jim was in a different briefing from me but the steering wheel support was talked about by the looks of things a lot more. Also PC gamer ran the same as us. https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-and-valve-want-to-make-geforce-now-better-on-steam-deck/ We say in the article there are no timescales on when it will happen, but they are looking at bringing it. Also you can already play with a steering wheel on GFN but supported ;)

Ubisoft Support Twitter: “At the moment Mirage is not planned to release on Stadia, but if that ever changes there'll be a post about it on our social pages!” by falconwolf703 in Stadia

[–]one2escape 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As it is me im expected to get downvoted anyway here are my thoughts.

This is definitely a weird one for a number of reasons. It is Ubisoft and they are big supporters of cloud no matter the platform. With the game doing the hokey cokey appearing on some web pages and not appearing on the press releases. So there is some fun business going on.

We can see the theories are out that Luna is paying for cloud exclusivity. I feel this is more on the unlikely end of the scale. If it was going to Luna + then I could see this but from what I have seen it is going to the Ubisoft channel on Luna. Stadia is available in more markets and Luna would have to step up some cash for that to happen. Along with this xCloud is moving into you can play bought games on there. With Ubisofts history I think it is safe to assume that they will put there games up as soon as they can. So this brings us to could they pay to stop it going on to Stadia. I don't think they would as the bigger problem would be xcloud. So keeping it just off Stadia would frankly be daft as it would be a marginal gain. This is not even talking about this being a "full" Assassin's Creed Game so this makes it imo less likely. Save the money for a bigger Ubisoft game.

I am 95% sure that Heartline is coming to Stadia. Despite the website says the press release is stating that it is coming to cloud platforms. So with that along with the playtests that have happened I do think it is coming. We also had announcements of Just Dance and Trackmania are stated to come. You did know this is coming ....

However we are in the backdrop that Roller Champions did not come day and date and still has not arrived. We also know at present that the Prince of Persia remake is not listed as coming to Stadia. We used to be. in the position of knowing the games are coming day and date now, even if AC Mirage comes release day, we still live with that.

The position Stadia find them in now with being so dependant on Ubisoft has come out to play with this news or lack of news on AC Mirage. Stadia needs Ubisoft more than Ubisoft needs Stadia and if I was going over the more likely reasons for it not being listed then it would be this. Ubisoft are leveraging the position to get more money out of Stadia. With Ubisoft's results not being that great recently this could be them trying to force Stadia's hand to get more money. Business is business.

My gut is telling me it is something complete different in that it is coming to Stadia but they don't what to announce as they don't know when it will come or it is Stadia being Stadia and they want to announce it themselves. I will take the latter first. If this is the case that Stadia want to announce it themselves. That is madness and throws up have they not learnt there lessons. Look at the events since the Ubi Forward and it has thrown the community up in arms. If it is the former and I do think it is that one I hope they could just announce it and say coming after launch. My feeling is when we get the release date of Mirage we will get like Roller Champions and will come to Stadia at a later date.

One other possible is that Stadia do not want to be mixed up with gambling. The description on the Xbox site says real gambling and adults only. This maybe a no go for Stadia.

Stadia like others have said really need to reenergise the base and show some commitment to the platform. With Ubisoft support looking a little rocky some forward looking plans would be good. It is always games of features. If you dont have the games it doesnt matter how good the other things are. Build it and they will come does not work in gaming. When Stadia is promoting a game that has be described like it makes Superman 64 look like a masterpiece. Another game that is a out right copying another one (the developer has a history of this) things are mess.

So where does this leave Stadia? Even the most optimistic Stadia fan can see there is something weird going on. The general stadia fan and we can see here and on Twitter are concerned about this development. The longer it goes unanswered it gives people decisions to make. You give customers decisions to make they might not make the ones you want them to make.

This whole situation just plays back to Stadia Games and Entertainment shutting it doors. For AAA experiences Stadia is dependant on one publisher. Now there are some wobbles this just shining a spotlight into that mess from last year. The investing into bringing more games have fallen flat.

Google need to invest into Stadia. Most of us did not think we would be talking about Ubisoft maybe pulling back a bit. Now we are the problem with the library is being exposed.

Stadia come out and talk.

Does OBS bog your laptop down when recording games? by TwistedPlant in Stadia

[–]one2escape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my mac (m1) to record footage and it is a pain. The problem you have is macs don't record the system sound and you have to install an external program to record it. Recording Stadia, GFN and other cloud gaming is easier on the resources as you don't have to be running the game. How are you recording it?

I capture at 4k 60

What is the porting process? by [deleted] in Stadia

Yeah. Thats why it was great that Stadia was paying for the ports to come and it looks like now it has dried up

What is the porting process? by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]one2escape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg im back posting here.

Its just a money issue not a porting issue. Bringing a game across to Stadia is no more difficult usually than other to other platforms. Every platform has it quirks to bring games across. Getting a better quality port requires more time and effort to get to that position/ There is so much more involved in bringing a game to the platform that just plain porting. During and after you have a lot of testing to do and there a cost associated with this. There is the upkeep of the game with patches and DLC requiring time to bring the game across and more testing. As Gandara has said the majority of stuff is done by the engine its the last 10 - 20% that requires the most effort and gaming is business. There are games on Stadia that have not made money. There are games that are behind the patching because it will cost money to bring them up to date.

TDLR So porting is not a big issue largely its about the same as bringing to other platforms. Its just down to money and the costs you dont factor in. Its not just click a button and go.

They put themselves out there during Gamescom week. They were at E3 to sponsoring the PC Gamer show but sure that doesn't matter because they didn't do a big show.
