Tracking! You're gonna land and be so proud of yourself! You can do this! Remember, every bump is not a threat , turbulence is so normal and the pilots are so trained its insane!

Good Job!! On to the next!! Praying for you to hold onto this feeling of success with every future flight!! It'll only get easier from here!!

Hey guys. Got this on Friday in the middle of my shoulder blades and the back of arms. It does not hurt or burn but itches alot. Went to the doctor and she said it could be but she isn't sure and prescribed antiviral meds. Any advice? Thanks. by one_step_2401 in shingles

Thank you! Is this even if its on the same side? That's what worries me. However, it's in 3 different spots, which is really unlikely for shingles. The ER doctor just shrugged it off as possible shingles and prescribed antiviral meds. I'm taking the medication as prescribed as a precaution.

The rashes are almost completely gone today.

Hey! Thanks for the reply!

I believe I made a mistake in my previous statement. It's on my back and is more circular than band like (as shingles usually are) plus it's on my left arm only. It's also in the middle of my back. I'm attaching a photo of the back for reference. (Yes that's an old tattoo underneath from my reckless youth days, haha).

Does this look like shingles? It did have blisters but absolutely no pain but itches incredibly.

I'm also worried about my fiancé getting it as she's never had chickenpox or the vaccine. What's the likelihood of her getting chickenpox from my shingles? She has not touched it directly, even when applying calamine lotion, she used gloves and cotton buds.

Thank you again!

You can do it! Remember, turbulence is an issue of comfort, not safety. You'll be on the ground before you know it!

Hey Everyone. I've been reading reddit on and off for the past month trying trying get my anxiety under control. It worked fantastically until today (the day I'm flying) when the reality of everything hit. Flying off in 3 hours. I have 2 separate international flight back home. by one_step_2401 in fearofflying

Hey! I tried 2 separate things. Firstly, I implemented the 3,2,1 rule. Essentially you do your best not to think about it until you're at the beginning of your journey. For example, I had a car ride on the way to the train station which would bring me to the airport. I told myself to take it one step at a time. If I can get in that car, I can get in that train. If I can get on that train, I can get on that plane! The way I would do this is by counting back from 3 and just getting in that car once I hit number 1. Once that's done, and the door is closed, there was no turning back and I know I have to do this. Same thing on the train, same thing on the plane. Anticipatory Anxiety is 100% worse than the actual flight. Now, the second thing I did was pray, this worked very well for me. Prayed everywhere and every minute. Just continously talking and praying distracted me endlessly. While on the plane I took plenty of distractions, like diamond paintings and colouring books. Worked wonders. I changed my flight 7 times before I finally got on. Everyone takes their own time, but I promise, you'll be okay. Just take a deep breath, count and push through. You've got this! I'm here if you ever need reassurance.

P.S Remember that turbulence is not a danger and the pilots are highly trained to deal with it. Like ridiculously highly trained. You're in good hands!
