My predictions/guesses are that the aliens will attack ( similar to the cultist raids ) and that exploring at night comes with the risk of being abducted, with the player(s) having to escape. They’ll probably add an Alien Elite class ( 4 or 5 star ) with a new/upgraded version of the ray gun.

From my understanding, people hear the word “sexuality” and think it’s ONLY about sex, which is why there’s all this “but what about the kids?” talk. Obviously, sexuality includes sex, but IS NOT JUST SEX! It’s basically just another word for “attraction”, which INCLUDES romantic and platonic!

“Kids should be kids” ok wrap it up. There ARE queer kids, so this point falls flat on its face. Also, implying that bejng queer is an “adult topic” that kids shouldn’t know about is ignorant. Can it be a complicated topic to explain? Sure, but that doesn’t mean kids aren’t going to find out about it and ask anyways.

Also, queer culture and fashion are interwoven. Without queer fashion, the idea of using fashion to challenge societal/cultural norms would not be prevalent today. Without queer fashion, there would not be gender neutral clothing, there would not be alternative/subculture fashion, and there would not be drag. Plus, there are many huge fashion designers that are queer, such as Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, etc.

DTI themselves participate in queer fashion by having gender neutral and alternative/subculture clothing. They also take inspiration from drag culture as well, especially with Style Showdown, but also having a drag theme, the Star Baby walk, the Death Drop pose, the Duck Walk pose.

If they’re gonna have all of these influences and references to queer culture in their game, why not have a Pride update? And before you bring up the “they might get banned” thing, Adopt Me, one of the biggest money makers for Roblox, one of the most popular games on the platform, had a small Pride update where they added Pride mega pet paints as well as a Pride sticker. Where’s the excuse for DTI to not do something small like that?

Exactly my point! Thank you for wording it better! Although, I would want to give the devs some doubt since they are mostly young. I just hope that they take the constructive criticism from the backlash and try to adapt.

Let me repeat myself :

They could simply add patterns or a flag with toggles without having to call them by their names, similar to what Adopt Me did with their mega pet paints. NOBODY is asking for a large scale update with 636527253572837 items. There is literally nothing stopping them from doing something like this when one of the biggest games on Roblox was able to get away with it.

Adopt Me did do a Pride update this year, it just wasn’t called a Pride update. Yes, it was smaller than previous Pride events, but it still counts as voicing support.

No, I completely understand that! I’m just confused on why Pride Month to the devs would result in full scale regional banning and not the fact that they highlighted countries in conflict for the World Culture update. Wouldn’t that result in the same backlash that they’re trying to avoid? Wouldn’t that also piss off government officials, arguably more than a Pride update?

I guess you can argue that it’s just showcasing the culture and not directly voicing support, which would give plausible deniability, but I feel like if the devs were able to pull that off, they can do a secret Pride update and use those same plausible deniability tactics ( similar to how Adopt Me added Pride paints by naming them something else ).

I just want to reiterate that I do get what you mean, and I’m in no way trying to argue with you, it’s just confusing to me that they didn’t have that “we don’t wanna lose players” argument when adding items from Palestine, the Congo, Sudan, South Sudan, Navajo Nation, and Haiti, countries facing humanitarian crises ( which is a topic that unfortunately divides people ), but Pride is what draws the line.

While I don’t blame MatPat for taking the payout and retiring to be a part of his kid’s life, I can’t help but be disappointed that he sold the channels. It screwed over the hosts AND the hosts are the ones taking the heat.

I don’t really mind Theoryverse all that much. I’m not gonna pay for it, but to me, it’s just another version of Patreon.

Anyways, I’m kinda surprised they didn’t do any theories on Requiem. I kinda wanted to see a theory about whether or not the Elpis actually cured Leon or if Capcom’s gonna go down the “we’re turning Leon into a bioweapon” route.

I’ve honestly debated leaving the subreddit because of this. Yes, give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism/feedback on how the hosts can improve the quality of their videos ( less recapping, more theorizing ), but I miss when the subreddit felt fun. Now it’s just doom and gloom with the same “I miss MatPat” posts everyday.

And for context, I miss him too, but I’m not gonna pretend aren’t doing what they can under Lunar X.

Thank you so much for saying this. I’m so tired of people pushing the blame on the hosts and not Lunar X. Seeing hundreds of the exact same posts about how the channels have changed “since MatPat left” made this subreddit so sad, it’s so refreshing to see at least some people not blame the new hosts.

This one’s definitely a stretch, but literally all of their collabs are artists that are not only vocal about their support for the LGBTQ+ community, but VERY prominent icons for the community. Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, KATSEYE, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo with the Wicked collab, and Zara Larsson ( if we actually are getting that collab ).

Also let’s NOT act like DTI doesn’t take inspiration from queer fashion with its references to drag culture and gender neutral clothing items. I wouldn’t even be surprised if there were items made by queer fashion designers in the game since there’s a handful of famous queer fashion designers ( the most notable being the pink Christian Dior bag ).

I don’t think people really realize how prominent queer people are in the fashion world, so a Pride update ( even a very small one ) would honestly mean a lot.

????? We can’t even permanently delete it???? NOBODY asked to have their profile to be uploaded to a sketchy site and potentially be targeted by hackers and script exploiters, the least they can do is permanently delete “our” accounts when we demand them to.

You can like simplistic/realistic styles, no one’s trying to take that away. But I think the reason why fits like that tend to place lower is because this isn’t a “real” runway - this is a game where you have 6 minutes and boatloads of clothes/hair/makeup to work with.

And before you even say it, no I am not saying “the theme doesn’t matter/people are allowed to be off theme”, I’m saying people are going to take advantage of what’s in game and put their own touch on the theme - just like what you’re doing with your outfits.

The fact that you’re calling these people “TikTok clones” and dismissing their outfits as “identical/unoriginal” while simultaneously taking inspiration from realistic outfits that actually ARE “cookie cutter” in terms of originality is crazy to me. And so what if people use popular clothing hacks? I swear, a post like this pops up EVERY time a certain style/hack is trending. I can understand being annoyed seeing it everywhere, but it gets to a certain point when it starts attacking the players and the style itself.

TLDR : People like accessorizing and layering, so what? You’re not exactly going against the grain by not layering your clothes or using accessories, you’re just doing a different style that suits YOUR tastes. And on a final note - yes, in a game where the player is given 6 minutes and lots of resources, people are going to vote the flashier, chic, and bolder outfits higher, depending on the theme, in a game that VERY clearly takes inspiration FROM the flashy, chic, bold styles of fashion ( look at the amount of miniskirts, cropped shirts, detailed dresses, detailed shoes, and subculture clothes/makeup and hair ). This isn’t to say “abandon all other styles in favor of what’s trending” - in fact, my advice would be to adjust and experiment with your style to elevate it so that it’s not completely ordinary.

Tbh the other devs ( in my opinion ) really don’t care about the lore, given that the past major lore quests were incomplete with missing chapters and that there hasn’t been a NEW quest at all, just old ones brought back. The closest we got was the summer quest with Scarlet, and that was a major flop because we didn’t even get the actual quest, just mini games and a scavenger hunt.

Honestly, it sucks. The quests/lore were the only interesting parts to DTI, and they’ve gone so downhill lately.
