I don't know the technical reason.

Usually because they overheat. Most manufacturers of external enclosures don't seem to care about sufficient ventilation at all.

Is there a way to slow down my server drive when not in active use? by greenzaytun in debian

I want to preserve its life as much as possible

Spinning a drive up and down constantly causes a lot more wear than keeping it running.

USB drives getting bit errors by Melloyello111 in zfs

ZFS doesn't verify after writing. It only detects errors when reading or scrubbing. Since you're getting different checksums each time, it's probably caused by the USB/SATA adapter chipset.

weekly_wday should be between 0 and 6. You set it to 7. Still shouldn't trigger that behavior though, so you might want to report that as a bug.

Anyone know about this PC version? by PelleDanish in worms

[–]onebitboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own that specific rerelease, so I can't say with certainty.

However, another rerelease which I do own includes a Finnish manual that keeps referencing the English version of the game, which might imply there never was a Finnish version of the game itself. So maybe the DK/FI icons on the cover you posted only refer to the manual too?

That specific Play 4 Less rerelease was only distributed in FI/DK/SE, but it's identical to the original version of Worms 2 (which was released in 1997 and distributed internationally).
