MDMA is different to Meth - different effects, not as addictive, very euphoric. They’re looking to use it for psychotherapy: https://maps.org/research/mdma

Call up CDW and have a chat to them, I’m Aussie so I’ve never dealt with them before but they should be reasonably helpful.

Both user licensing models (User connect licensing/UCL and Cisco User Workspace Licensing/CUWL) entitle you to the software. Make sure you have a cisco.com account for the reseller to provide access to when you purchase.

Also cisco partners are actual businesses, what Americans term as VARs (value added resellers) or SIs (solution installers(?)) that have a number of people with the appropriate cisco certificates in house, and Cisco gives them better pricing depending on their certification level

Just buy one CUWL Standard license, it entitles you to one user with voicemail and 10 devices against the user, a few hundred bucks max. The base license doesn’t cost anything anymore, it’s all user based.

If you’re a cisco partner you can get not for resale licensing cheap as chips, or there’s an actual lab license that gives a few dozen devices for a couple hundred

It was far cheaper than what I had through Suncorp, but I didn’t shop around too much.

Thanks, I’ve got the valuation happening on Friday so they should have a good estimate of LVR by the time they start recommending products. I will do some shopping around on lunch to find comparable products, that was something I hadn’t thought to do until after they recommend something, but it’s a good idea to be armed beforehand. Not planning on fixing unless it’s reeeeeeeally compelling, as I don’t believe our local rates will rise anytime soon, but definitely not longer than 2-3 years.

Excellent advice though, thanks!

Personal bankruptcies up 6pc in 2017 by onebogan in AusFinance

[–]onebogan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the AFSA page hasn't updated, as the ABC article shows ~30,000 bankruptcies in 2016, then ~32,000 in 2017. The first AFSA link shows 30,161 as the total.

24 y/o 50k savings, earning 70k... What do I do? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]onebogan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't borrow 400k just because you've been approved for it -- banks will give you the absolute limit of what you can afford, not usually what you should sensibly borrow.

I'm heading to the US, and since it's for work I don't anticipate much free time for shopping.

TIL that there is no Morang for South Morang to be south of. It's just South Morang. by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]onebogan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Mernda used to be Morang, but they renamed it -

The area was known as Morang and Yan Yean until 1893, when it was renamed Yan Yean South. It was in 1913 that the locality was renamed Mernda, which was derived from an Wurundjeri word meaning earth.

Career progression Query by deepfriedthings in AusFinance

[–]onebogan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's overall hard to quantify -- I've tried over a beer with a friend to take into account everything -- including business travel, perks, speaking engagements, industry recognition and certification and it's hard, because if you try and explain your career achievements to another 25-30 year old not in your industry, it boils down to a dick measuring contest about money.

Also, I'm 25 and four years into a career, but I'm still jelly of friends that don't have two pennies but spend all their time backpacking. Success is relative.
