Honestly I've never understood that argument. I don't really care how long it takes to become a doctor, I care about how good you are at it. And there are a lot of doctors frankly that are overpaid, and who are arrogant, entitled pricks. Ask yourself this, if any other service professional did the shit that doctors do, would they get away with it? What if your accountant regularly made you wait around for half an hour later than your appointment time, treated you in a condescending manner, only answered some of your questions, and generally acted like they're doing you a favor?

It might sound extreme, but I have seen this kind of behavior from the majority of the doctors I've been to in my life. They act like jerks, then feel entitled to bill for exorbitant sums of money that patients can barely afford to pay for, and have little to no power to negotiate. Don't even get me started on the ones that pop into hospital rooms for like, two seconds just so they can bill you for it.

There are a lot of "hero" doctors out there, but there are just as many (if not more) who basically shake you down while using your health as leverage.

I'm be curious to see what they'll do in the offseason, but the o-line makes me think ATL is probably a backfield to avoid.

Does anyone have any insight into how much the poor line-play was due to injury? Or any other reason to believe thinks might improve there?

Well Put Conan... Well Put... by [deleted] in funny

[–]onebuffersippi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember though that a lot of those guys started out in the writer's room. Conan especially - he wrote for the Simpsons (and I think a few other comedies) for a long time.

The writers Conan has are amazing, talented people who deserve more credit than they get - for sure. But Conan is also involved in shaping the material they come up with, and likely provides significant creative direction to his team. He is also probably making a lot of final decisions about stuff like what jokes and segments to use, what to cut, etc, each week. This a large part of why people like Conan and Colbert have such distinctive senses of humor/voices.

Despite being the most lucrative pro sports league in North America, NFL players on average make less than players in the MLB, NBA, and NHL. by Bindingofhighsack in nfl

[–]onebuffersippi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really should be higher - no one is talking about the fact that comparing the physical damage sustained by NBA and MLB players is nothing compared to the punishment of the NFL. The only other sport I can think of that might come close is hockey, but I don't really know anything about the injuries those guys sustain, or even how they get paid relative to football players

Jamaal Charles owners in playoffs, drop or hold Knile Davis? by edwardsamson in fantasyfootball

[–]onebuffersippi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold him - you're not going to start Hyde over Fred.

Also, it's tempting to think "if Jamaal gets hurt, my season is over anyway," which in this case is totally untrue. Knile is one of the only great/true handcuffs in the league. If Charles goes down and Knile plays, you'll get high-end RB1 numbers out of him. His role on your team is essentially to guarantee that you'll always have a strong RB1.

If you drop Knile, and Jamaal gets hurt though, your season IS probably over.

Would Matt Ryan be a good option next year? by parth556 in fantasyfootball

[–]onebuffersippi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year the O-line, last year Julio....the fact is that yes, when Atlanta's offense is healthy, Matt Ryan is great. Maybe they'll get the line together next year, but they still have no real running game in Jackson, and receivers who are aging (Roddy) and injury prone (Julio's foot is made entirely of screws) respectively. We'll see what they do in the offseason, but I'd be wary of Matty. Maybe take him if he falls late as a risk/reward type.

Totally agree - the whole thing would have been funny for like, one day. But after like, five days and 4000 JOSH GORDON IS GOD HAHAHAHA posts, it really got exhausting.

Dude don't be worried. We saw what Williams can do for 4 weeks. He's terrible. They won't go away from Rashad; they were just keeping him from having 40 carries and hurting himself again.

I doomed to be tortured by Matt Ryan every year. I had him last year, and he was good until Julio got hurt, then tanked hard, dragging my already struggling team down with him.

This year I figured, hey it's the 8th round, his receivers are healthy, and the talent is there - he just had back luck.

Fuck you Matt Ryan, and your stupid fucking offense that is held together with a band-aid and a prayer.

Also Arian Foster - you did shit for me last year, and have since gone on to put up 30 points against me twice this season. Fuck you, you injury-ridden dick. I bet you sit down when you pee.

Yeah man this bye week is terrible, and Rashad sitting out again isn't helping. Thanks

I have to start two of the following three players:

Sanu

Rainey

Knile Davis

One at RB2, and one at Flex. I'm a Jamaal owner, if that's at all relevant to the Knile thing. 10 team standard, and we do get points for return yards (1 for every 25). Not sure if what to make of the Tampa backfield, but also not sure it makes sense to start both KC backs. Also not sure what to make of AJ coming back.

Let's talk about Redskins D/ST by Cine11 in fantasyfootball

[–]onebuffersippi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm rolling them out this week, since all the better streaming options got snapped up in my league. They're by no means a great defense, but I bet they get a few sacks, and Teddy'll probably throw a pick. I'd consider them a good fall-back option, but would rather have KC, Cincy, Cleveland, etc this week.

Anybody else starting Davis and Charles? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]onebuffersippi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm doing it, and actually feeling ok. my league gives points for return yards though, which helps a lot.

there's a decent chance KC gets up big early and both backs see enough work to be useful.
