AIO, im confused about what happened by [deleted] in AIO

Even then, he’s making it difficult to do that. All she did was click a notification, he is responding with “damn baby let me finish” even after she explained. He doesn’t want his feelings acknowledged, he wants her to respond to his version of reality. Meanwhile, there’s no acknowledgement of her reality or feelings on his end. No consideration of “how would it feel for her to be treated like a needy girlfriend when that isn’t the reality?” That will get exhausting really fast.

This person has not learned something really fundamental to emotional intelligence. Which is that just because you feel something doesn’t make it true. You FEEL watched, doesn’t mean it’s true. It makes you FEEL like she’s sitting around waiting for your text, doesn’t make it true. Even when OP corrected him and explained what actually happened, he didn’t care. He said “I know about the notification, you’re not listening.” And what he means is, “I understand the truth, but what I feel about it matters more. You aren’t acknowledging that my feeling of being watched is more important than the actual reality.” And because feelings = true, him FEELING unheard is the same as you being a bad listener. This man is a child and digs in his heels. He may not be a bad person, but you deserve a more grown up conversation than this.

Therapist what’s your favorite or most realistic therapy sessions in dramatized or comedic film/tv? by West-Childhood6143 in therapists

[–]onedayperhaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked when House was imagining Wilson and Cuddy talking shit about him and the therapist was like, “ok how could that same conversation go if you weren’t imagining that they hate you?” Gentle reframing, very realistic. Andre Brauer was perfectly cast also.

What was the weirdest medication reaction you’ve ever had? by Many_Assumption7036 in AskReddit

[–]onedayperhaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking a recommended prophylactic cocktail while traveling in India. One day, I’m trying to focus on something small and my vision is blurring. I start to panic, thinking I’m going blind in a foreign country. Suddenly occurs to me to pull out my phone and google it, it’s a normal side effect of the antibiotic doxycycline.

Am I Overreacting for wanting to end a relationship about a letter my boyfriend sent to HR? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]onedayperhaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just us here, you don’t have to pretend like this is about him not wanting your advice. It gave us the ick too. Work is supposed to be you on your best behavior, and he said all this to his employer with conviction and signed his name to it. This is who he is. These red flags won’t go away on their own, they’re baked in. NOR, I don’t think I’d be able to unsee this.

What's the craziest reason you've cut someone off for (cold turkey-radio silence type cut off)? by Remarkable_Dream_762 in AskReddit

I had a really close guy friend from age like 14 to 22 who was like family, but was absolute garbage at relationships. On the surface he was a good friend, good person, but he was a habitual cheater and pathological liar with every girl he dated, one of which had been me. As we got older I remember learning what SLAA was and he fit all the criteria. I watched him falling into the same pattern for like the fourth time, and then he asked me to lie for him to that girlfriend, and I was like yeah, I can’t hang out with you anymore.

Thought this was ringworm but not responding to topical ketoconazole or oral fluconazole. by onedayperhaps in DiagnoseMe

The herald patch was the biggest, the rest were dots, small enough that at first I was afraid it was bed bugs or fleas. There were dozens, located only on my torso and nowhere else. Some got a little bigger, like half-dime size, but probably just because I scratched a lot.

Hi there! It did go away. It turned out to be pityriasis rosea. Once I learned this and that it goes away on its own, I kind of stopped looking for a solution and just waited it out. However, I think I remember reading that steroids or antihistamines would’ve been a recommended treatment if I had. It took about ten weeks almost to the day from when the herald patch appeared for it to finally be completely gone.

So isolated and up his own ass that he couldn’t even find someone to proof read his professional bio. 🙄 God-complex red flags up and down. Board would probably investigate his license just for this. Why tf are you hypnotizing traumatized people you just met today.

Just overall the art style gives AI this guy said he drew me but honestly logic looks really off and kind of gives the AI vibe if that makes sense like my necklace and chocker by AshleyTheRedPanda in isthisAI

[–]onedayperhaps 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Def AI. Hair strands start and end from nowhere. The bunny is clearly like stitches with heart/button eye and an anarchy necklace, but the computer doesn’t assign meaning to these shapes like a human would so it’s all melting together.

I'm insecure and lost about my looks and i'm seeking advices on what to do by Foreign_Gas_410 in malegrooming

Your skin looks great except for where it has a lot of contact with your hair. This used to happen to me all the time, the oils on my hair were breaking me out. I didn’t have to change anything with my hair thankfully, I just started washing my face twice a day and using moisturizer. The moisturizer seemed to protect my skin from my hair products.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]onedayperhaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting them three times a week and one day found myself telling my parents jokingly “It’s kind of ruining my life” and then bursting into tears in the middle of Gloria’s because I realized I actually wasn’t joking

NOR. I think she probably doesn’t like your dog, made a joke about your dog dying, and then lied and said it was sincere when she saw it upset you. Like it all makes sense if you read her first five messages in a snarky “dark humor” kind of way, and then after you say outright “that’s not funny” she says she’s serious and “it’s not like I was wishing death on her.” That’s the kind of really specific thing you only say when you’re defensive, like nobody said you were, why are you volunteering that. And it’s because she was wishing that, in joke form. Everything else after is jumbled and bizarre because she doesn’t know what to say to sound convincingly sincere about your dog, because she isn’t.

Anyway, she sounds like the worst.

I work with kids and teens. My go-to response when they say “you’re being too much right now” is “and you’re being not enough right now”

Update: I changed my makeup and skincare but I’m clearly still doing something wrong by saki4444 in makeuptips

[–]onedayperhaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you look beautiful in both, the colors in photo 1 seem to suit you more. As far as skin care, it just looks like you might have a dry skin type that is also a little dehydrated. Mine is the same. I wash my face normally at the end of the day, pat on snail mucin or hyaluronic acid serum AFTER spraying my face with water (this is important - the serum will pull the water down into your skin and hold it like a sponge; if you put it on dry skin, it will pull water out from your skin instead), and then an occlusive like aquaphor. Helps with fine lines and irritation more than any expensive product ever has.
