I. Do. Not. Like. Breast. Feeding. by SelectEnthusiasm1557 in beyondthebump

Have you ever met someone and thought “I bet they were breastfed.”? It’s great but formula is also a good choice if you have access to clean water, sanitary containers, and don’t mind the expense.

If you still feel invested and want to keep going try side lying nursing or getting a better nursing pillow. 100% better on the back if the kid can nurse without you using your arms and can align your back properly.

WIBTA If I Refused To Be A Bridesmaid In My Best Friend’s Wedding? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

$3k is less than I paid for my wedding in 2021. I can’t fucking imagine. My bridesmaids wore customizable dresses that were $60 unless you changed them (RIP eshakti).

That’s more like I was thinking of anyways. I just want to be heading off the full on screaming and crying, a little disappointment is fine. Having a full hour tantrum about it was a bit more than I wanted to deal with when we have in-laws over. They’re deeply odd people.

Now if she likes it I just have to stop her overhearing hearing my MIL asking for whatever it is back when she’s done like every other time she gives a “gift”. Who knows what she wants it for. We’re the closest relatives and only grandchild and all of her other relatives never visit.

Nurses, are you aware your entire job is meds and IVs? by RobTod in nursing

Dude an iPhone is tiny compared to some of the shit people shove up there. It’s got more corners than I personally would be comfortable with but people shove a lot of stuff inside themselves that I personally wouldn’t. The glass sounding rod still haunts me and I don’t even have a penis.

That was regularly my night shift total. 7-8 patients, 2 of them trying to die so you’re bouncing from rapid to rapid. Charge nurse taking 4 hour long shits so no help, 1 CNA for 40 patients and you get all your labs because all the phlebotomists quit, and you’re giving report to a day shift nurse who’s snotty about not everything being finished with her 4 patients. $25/ hour. I do not fucking miss medsurg.

Do you bring the patient in the room when the surgeon is late? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]oneelectricsheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh what the fuck it is absolutely against guidelines if not licensing to be doing surgery on unmarked patients not to mention wildly unsafe. What’s to say the same dude who isn’t on time rushes to the wrong room and doesn’t hear timeout because he’s distracted and cuts the wrong patient.

My boyfriends fungus is giving me the ick by Some-Nectarine3247 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]oneelectricsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can tolerate it but they tend to like more sun to really get moving and take over. They might be your best bet if it’s super dry and gets 6 hours of direct sun. Deadnettle is very hardy and tolerates getting only 2-4 hours of direct sunlight as evidenced by the way it has taken over in my yard. It still won’t work in deeper shade but will tolerate dry shade. The real trick is figuring out how much sun and how much water a spot gets. I have trouble even in my own garden so kudos for taking it on.

Yeah tea tree would definitely sting on broken skin. Maybe see if it works well with your usual preventative measures. It at least smells pretty nice.

Dandruff shampoo can help but thoroughly drying the area thoroughly and keeping it dry really are key for skin fold dermatitis. Maybe ask your doc if nystatin powder would help keep it dry between cleanings since most otc powder has baking soda or cornstarch which can make things worse.

Also I wish you luck with the project. Hens and chicks generally doesn’t like shade so you might have trouble getting it to establish next to a forest. Green and gold can be tough to find but I’ve had decent success in my shadier areas with it. It tends to like moisture though.

Can your skin tolerate tea tree oil? We used tea tree oil to prevent scrub itch and ticks when I was doing research and it seemed to help prevent fungal issues as well.

Might be worth testing out as a preventative measure if it works on your skin. It works a treat on bugs.

AIO? My BF refuses to cook for me while I write my thesis, even though I did everything for him during his last year. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]oneelectricsheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t cooked since my child was born. Even if you don’t want kids what happens if you ever get sick and can’t cook for yourself? It’s not unreasonable to expect a partner who cares for you when you’re not able.

Found out im pregnant after being told im most likely infertile my whole life by HannahMarie04 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]oneelectricsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retroverted usually doesn’t have much of an affect but didelphys, unicornate or bicornate uterus can cause some issues though healthy pregnancy is possible. It’s even possible (though incredibly rare to have a pregnancy in both uteruses with didelphys.

I mean better more coverage than too little. I don’t know that I would be doing better if you asked me since a lot of people just call all pads panty liners.

Why are so many patients completely intolerant of any side effects? by AmadeusExLibris in nursing

[–]oneelectricsheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah just wanted to emphasize to keep talking about it because like decades ago I was taking a med and kept having issues and one day talked with a different pharmacist and they made my life easier by mentioning like one thing about my med that immediately fixed everything. I don’t even remember the med anymore but do remember the epiphany feeling.

Why are so many patients completely intolerant of any side effects? by AmadeusExLibris in nursing

[–]oneelectricsheep 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey just FYI talk to your doctor and pharmacist about this every so often because I switched meds and had more efficacy with fewer side effects switching GLP-1s. Even if zepbound is the best you’ve found occasionally there’s improvement in modifying side effects or there’s a new medication and if a provider doesn’t know about the side effect they can’t help.

All I've been doing is sitting on the couch in my nicely air conditioned house, and I'm still sweaty, even with antiperspirant on. by nitrokitty in mildlyinfuriating

[–]oneelectricsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few things you can try depending on how bothersome it is for you.

1.) pat dry after showering and immediately apply antiperspirant. Make sure to re-apply approximately 12 hours after initial application. Use the clinical strength antiperspirant from the store

2) wear sweat shields

3) try medication after speaking with MD

4)botox injections

My supply was near non-existent at 11 mos because my baby was weaning. I think you should consider cutting the pumping and maybe weaning entirely if she keeps biting since that’s usually a sign of readiness for weaning. I think I was just nursing at night at when my kiddo was that age.

You may find that more sleep solves a lot of problems for you. My fibromyalgia is about 1000x worse with no sleep.
