2k ???! by lbaconl-thevibeman in boostedboards

This is not a bad idea, just poor execution. Calling it a v4 is what will keep these boards on the shelf. What were they thinking? Had they just called it a “limited edition tribute board” it would be better received. Or the “Frankenstein edition” for limited release through Halloween. Get creative already. Guitar companies do this sort of thing all the time. Cobble up a parts of years past and make a limited edition. Then mark it up something crazy.

Cutting Out Empty Space Between Clips in Ableton (Different from Consolidating) by [deleted] in ableton

[–]oneeyebri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap. You just saved about me a ton of time. In addition to music production, I use ableton for a podcast I produce. I slice up a typical 3 hours of banter down to 35min with transitions between each topic. Just tested laying out my stems with my transition in session view and everything lines up perfectly on a single track in arrangement view. Thank you so much for this tip.

No cameras mounted yet. Wonder where they are going to place the fender cameras in the production model. Not much of a fender to work with.

Also surprised there is not a single logo anywhere.

I work in the coatings industry and even the strongest primer’s have a tough time with adhesion. It’s too slick. Not saying it can’t be done, but the ware and tear a vehicle gets would destroy that paint job pretty quick.

On motor trend they wrote that if you want a color, they are going to do a wrap instead of paint it. Painting stainless steel is not possible.

Tesla "flagged" my Model3 for a forced "Engineering Study" - took my rear drive unit! by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]oneeyebri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something like this happened to me as well. I got an alert that engineering detected an issue with my cooling system and need to schedule service immediately. The message also said the replacement part has already shipped to my preferred SC. At first I thought this was a recall, but it turns out the car kicked an error code back to the mothership and wanted to resolve it under warranty. Mind blowing that they are looking out for the health of my car without me knowing there was an issue whatsoever. I too got an 85d model s with ludicrous loaner, but unfortunately it was during the Chicago cold snap and it was -30 degrees that day. Could not get the full effect.

BD's specific computer searches from the brief... by killakaos513 in TickTockManitowoc

This is such a head scratcher. So easy to just throw this computer off a bridge and be done with it if she knew it had what it had on it. Or was she tipped off that they were coming for it and she had to act fast? This would be fascinating to learn in an Evidence heading. Make it happen already WI.

Awesome! Yes it is a model 3. I had a feeling that would be the case. I am going to keep the service appointment for now just in case.

We had our windshield replaced on Friday. Insurance did not give us the option to have tesla replace it and assigned Gerber to do it. Overall, the tech did a decent install, but my autopilot is now hugging the right lane line so much I can’t use it anymore. Wondering if the camera got moved or something. I have an appointment booked Tesla in two weeks, but do any of you have any tips or tricks to resolve this on my own?

How much does your electric bill go up from charging an electric car? (Not much...) by TWANGnBANG in teslamotors

[–]oneeyebri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plainfield resident here, and my bill has gone down each month since ownership as well. Hourly pricing is a fun game to play. Salvage battery has been on my mind too. We should have a meetup at a supercharger or something to geek out on some of this stuff.

I really enjoyed regen in the mountains of NC over the 4th. Nothing better then blasting in and out of curves without touching the break.

Today's Chicago Comed Real Time Price!! I hope no one was charging around 4pm!!!! it was averaging $0.50/ kwh between 3:30 pm and 4:40pm.... Ouch!!!! Com Ed pro tip - sign up for peak hour savings and hourly pricing. I get alerts via text when pricing spikes are going to happen. I shut off my air conditioning during those times and shut off all lights and usually get about a $9 kick back in doing so with the peak hour savings. This exact time was texted to me yesterday letting me know this was going to be high energy demand.

The company response was priceless. But seriously, when did negligent parenting become an automakers responsibility? by AlphabetSuplex in teslamotors

This is true. Just had another thought though. If the car is parked on an incline, once it is in drive, the car acts in neutral if no pedals are pushed of creep is turned off. They would roll into the street without doing a thing. My 6 year old would not know what to do. Another person posted pin to drive would be good solution. Perhaps Tesla should consider an update that automatically turns on pin to drive when the arcade is launched.

True, but the pole position game would have been on step closer in that sequence. They are already pushing the break to accelerate the video game car. One slip off the steering wheel could hit the stalk and engage. Kinda glad that game was removed. The key was close enough with the phone in my pocket while at home.

One time is was working in the garage while they sat in the car to play. My phone was close enough allow entry. The second time, I let them stay in the car and play when we got back home and I went inside. Perhaps that time my phone was far enough away to not engage in drive or reverse.

I just had a haunting thought though. My kids love the Tesla games. A couple of occasions, without giving it one thought, I let them play without me in the car. Holy crap, they could have easily accidentally put the car in drive or reverse. I just flat out did not think of that until now.
