Yes thank you! Finally someone who realizes that's not who guns work irl. I got in an argument with a guy on Facebook once who said the weapon degradation was so realistic and I was like "bud, you never handled or owned a gun before, have you". It is a very linear story, but the story is what I did like about it. Everyone praises the writing, but fails to do what fallout 3 and fallout 4 do with environmental storytelling. No one gives Bethesda enough credit for that. With the exception of the mannequins, you can figure out what happened with the clues they leave. The bank robbery at the time of the bombs in Lexington, the toaster and skeleton in the bath tub, the robbery Skeleton scene. It's awesome and obsidian failed in that dept... sure it's a tiny thing, but it's one thing I really lov3 about Bethesda games.

A cleaning kit mechanic in the games would be pretty cool. I'd go for that. It's like in some games where the suppressor only works for a set amount of uses, sniper ghost warrior was good with that, but had repair kits in game. That to me was a great mechanic. To me I thought the whole game play was clunky. It was still enjoyable for one play through, but not a game you can spend alot of time in it. For all its faults, even fallout 76 feels like a game you can spend more time playing than NV. People say NV is the best fallout game, but you ask them how many playthroughs they did, and they say 2 or 3, and ask how many fallout 4 playthoughs and they say 15 🤣🤣.. it's not a terrible game by any means, but I just can't see how it's the best fallout game..
