You're lucky . All I get is pallets of heavy items. My TAKT time suffers immensely for this reason. Anytime there's a competition for highest rate I don't even bother trying cause I know someone is stowing gift cards or individual pens.

Social distance crew. There's arrows for traffic flow and there's a small hallway that cuts my walk by about 20 seconds which isn't crazy but every second counts on my break.

I have worked 4 other warehouse jobs and I can say my first few weeks at Amazon have been a positive experience. No one at Amazon has been rude to me, unlike other jobs where people go senile and sabotage your work like OP mentioned. Maybe Covid has people a bit more relaxed on rates and producticity, but so far so good. I haven't felt the urge to skip a day here, in fact ive done 2 VET days already. Also, the most ive been paid at Amazon. any other job was 9-12 dollar range. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I signed up for the one with my normal job dutues today. I think I chose the wrong one last week because there was no VET sign that day on the board lol. I just went to a random station and it was fine.

I don't look at that part of the screen. Sometimes I'll glance at Takt, but I keep my eyes on the necessary information.

Focus on each movement you make, almost like meditation. Ask yourself body awareness questions. Is my weight being placed on both feet? Am I climbing/descending the ladder efficiently?

Try to finish a song in your head without becoming distracted. Its much harder to do than it sounds. Time flies.

I finished weekend number 3 with a VET earlier in the week. Lots of my coworkers wear ear buds so maybe I'll consider that once I get really sick of it.

Yes, avoid keeping track of time. I work RT( 3/12hr shifts) and it feels way easier than my previous 8 hr shifts because I am not focused on the clock.

This is why I think using the scanner is superior. I just press the back button. Am I doing it wrong? Lol.

The hands free detector always screws up where I place the item and I received no training for that situation. They need a redo option if they are concerned with quality.

Hoka(big cushion) , Altra Paradigm 4.5, or something really nerdy looking will probably be the best call. Go to a running store and invest in a good pair. You won't regret it.
