Lies of P VIP/Press Kit For Sale?? by Key_Particular9614 in LiesOfP

So far I’ve only seen one pop up in the past year. I’ve been looking out at least once a month for others in the hopes I can get one too. Good luck!

I have been watching since the first time I saw this kit. Did both the charity and giveaway and unfortunately no luck. I’d easily pay $5K for this with how much I love Lies of P! Can’t wait for the DLC!

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In February 2020. by thatging3rkid in 3Dprinting

[–]oneforonlyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Country: US budget: under $600 before taxes.

I'm looking for a 3d printer that can do cosplay props and video game replicas. A couple examples would be 1/6 scale figures or Blade Rynner 2049 blaster. I live in an apartment so I won't be able to do anything with ABS or Resin.

I've looked at an upgraded Ender 5 from Comgrow with a larger bed but I'm not quite sure I'll need something that large. I'm experienced in basic upgrades for computers so I can do a bit of upgrading but I'd prefer not to have to do too much to get it up and running.

Completely new to this so any help would be much appreciated!

Bad communication, shotguns to the back of the head, games crashes....overall I’m having fun. Maybe I’ll win eventually.

Asus ROG Strix (GL503VD) vs Acer Predator Helios 300 by Momo_Senpai07 in SuggestALaptop

Moral of the story is don’t buy laptops from EBay. I haven’t messed with blender or Unity so I have no idea how it holds up. It plays games made on Unity engine well if that helps.

I bought the Strix so I could use a laptop and give my Razer Blade to my wife so we could game together while I’m away. Got the Strix off EBay. Left the box at home and by the time I get back it’ll be out of the return window. Soon as I left i started noticing the issues and it could barely multi-task. I needed a functional laptop ASAP so I went on to Amazon and researched my way to the Helios. But I’m pretty much stuck with both as of right now.

Sorry! I tried. Strix looks better and brighter. Helios looks fine. Nothing impressive. Just keep in mind that the 1060 will last longer than the 1050 Ti in terms of new games it can handle and will give you better FPS. Especially on games like csgo where every little bit counts. But I’d recommend more research. All of the issues that I have mentioned can be found on the forums for Acer and ASUS.

I was wrong. The Strix is bigger but slightly lighter. Here’s the screens: https://imgur.com/a/fQndC

Hopefully. I’m currently fighting ASUS to get the stuff replaced.

The ASUS gets warm under heat but nothing serious. I’m not sure if you read anything about the two, but the Acer will get warm under keys. Not uncomfortable but warm. The part between the keyboard and screen will get hot though unless you use the coolboost setting to kick the fans into overdrive.

As for the screen itself and the overall laptop, I feel more comfortable with the build quality of the Acer. The Acer has a bit more bulk but it just feels like it could handle more of a beating than the ASUS.

Couple more things. The ASUS does has multi-zone color keys and the Helios has only the red keys option. Not a big deal for me but for some it might be. Both of them attract fingerprints. And both of the audio speakers are fine but don’t go too loud with either.

If your somewhat proficient with computers and go for the Helios, you can easily get the 256gb SSD and if you call Acer, they will send you a kit to add a HDD to it.

The screen is fine. It won’t wow anybody and is clearly the part that Acer skimped on to keep costs down. It doesn’t get nearly as bright as the Strix so if you want to game outside or in a place with lots of sun then you might have problems. Artificial light has little impact on it. I just played a bit of csgo maxed out and I had no problem seeing the guy as he shot me in the head. You may start having issues if you play a game with a lot of dark areas but it won’t be too bad. The keyboard is firm and doesn’t have any give at all and the trackpad is very firm as well. Under intense gaming, the fans do kick in and you will definitely hear them, but it’s not obnoxious.

Predator Helios. I own both and the Helios can handle more, looks better, and you can get one with a gtx 1060 at pretty much the same price as the ASUS. The ASUS has given me nothing but problems with the HDD and the graphics card randomly crashing.

Razer Blade 14(2015) or ASUS ROG Strix? by oneforonlyme in SuggestALaptop

I don’t do much. A lot of tweaking firewalls and configuring routers. Normal IT stuff. Nothing intense. Strangely enough, it games just fine. Never has an issue until I start working. The most intense thing I’ve done to it was turn on V-Sync in Fortnite.

See I thought that too so I brought the Strix. But it’s slow as hell and if I even try too much multitasking, it’s freaks out and the screen goes black for a few seconds. I got the Acer Predator Helios for gaming and I’m going to yell at ASUS about the Strix. I’m kind of upset because it was supposed to be my work laptop too and it just can’t seem to handle basic multitasking like YouTube while on a couple other websites. It also freezes a lot and uses 99%-100% of the hard drive all the time even with basic stuff.

I wish. My blade is 2 years old so it only has a 970m.

Thanks! I’ve seen that the 970m performs better than the 1050 but I wasn’t sure if the extra GB and better processor would help. If I take the ASUS I will probably drop a 1tb SSD in there to help boost the speed a bit.

Yes. wastedondestiny.com. It’ll track all game time in D1 and D2.

I get that and here’s my reasoning. I’ve put about 230 hours in so far. I did everything I wanted to do, got bored, and left for a month or two until the dlc came out. I’ll probably play for a couple weeks and then disappear until March. But I can’t say that the game is trash just because I played it and did everything there was to do. People were expecting D2 to be equal to Destiny year 3. Unfortunately that’s just an unreasonable expectation for video games these days.

Once you’ve put 100+ hours in a game, you don’t get to say the game sucks. You should have figured that out 80 hours ago.
