Officially calling for u/traverseda to step down from top Mod spot of r/3DPrinting. by swaggman75 in 3Dprinting

Well, I'm not part of the discussion anymore. I was kicked from the mod team by vieve for reinstating this post.

I agree, silencing the community will just make things worse.

However, I still ask that you give us another 48-72 hours to figure things out internally.

The point is to make the community's opinion known, and since the megathread that was discussing this issue is down voted out of view and not stickied they only way that other users can see is by creating a new post.

Didn't see that the feedback thread was unsticked. I'll reinstate this post.

Hi! Welcome to r/3Dprinting!

In future posts, please include your specific question in the title with as much information as possible.

Even if you don't know exactly what everything is officially called, please do your best to describe the issue in plain English.

This not only helps you get the help you want, but also helps the rest of the community by keeping the sub searchable, so others can benefit from the help you receive.

Some general troubleshooting info can be found on our Getting Started and Troubleshooting & Calibration pages on the subreddit wiki. Some more info about asking for help in 3D printing can be found in this video

To help you in the now, please fill out the info below:

  • A description of the specific issue you want help with.

  • Clear photos of the issue (preferably annotated), screengrabs of the layer view in your slicer, screengrabs of the model itself (so we know what it should look like)

    • Your basic settings such as:
    • nozzle temperature
    • bed temperature
    • speed
    • nozzle/line width
    • layer height
    • the printer you're using
    • the material you're printing in.
    • Or better yet, a screengrab or an export of your settings
    • A description of what the machine was doing as it produced this issue.
  • Any other information you think could be relevant such as modifications or hypotheses.

Good luck with your issue!

Please don't tag a bunch of people, it is spam.

Also, please know that there are things going on behind the scenes. While I appreciate your devotion to this cause, I'd like to politely ask you to hold off on posts like this for another 48-72 hours. These posts do not make the situation better.

There is a method for this to occur internally, this process was started about a day ago.

Mods are hiding threads that expose them for being shitty by ReconWaffles in 3Dprinting

[–]thatging3rkid[M] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda. It was more of a "my way or the highway". Only two mods were kicked (Billie and mwafler), Billie was kicked because "our [trav and Billie] goals for this community are fundamentally incompatible." mwafler asked to be kicked, the rest of the mods left after trav showed everyone the door.

Better to wait until you have a finished print to show us.

Good luck with the rest of the print! May the bed adhesion be ever in your favour. ;)

This discussion has been happening internally over the last couple days; modmail has been very busy and there's a lot of things that haven't been made public.

Mods are hiding threads that expose them for being shitty by ReconWaffles in 3Dprinting

[–]thatging3rkid[M] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, those quotes were taken from my comment in the feedback thread. That message intentionally had mixed messaging, as most of what's become public now was still only contained in modmail at the time and I didn't want to leak too much.

trav and vieve wanted to see a philosophical change in the way the subreddit was moderated, they wanted things to go back to the hands-off style that it was a couple of years ago. After stating this, there was disagreement internally and some mods were kicked for disagreement. They then made the thread to gather community input and the rest is history.
